"Hiring SJ Construction, for us was probably the best thing we could have done. Kitchen and bathroom fixtures were the easy part, but the supply lines were a disaster and made no sense whatsoever, and now you see clearly what goes where with the proper valves placed where they can be found and used. He had to finish the floor under the dishwasher where the floor installer missed for the new dishwasher. Clean up was a snap for us, he left nothing behind including the old dishwasher. Oh and in the middle of all things happening we decided to put in a garbage disposal. Not a problem he hooked us up. Fortunately, any supply needed was just a few blocks away and he took care of that as well. All said and done if you hire someone other than SJ Construction you are making a big mistake! We have decided that the other projects we have in mind will probably be done by Steve, who else would we choose, most everyone I know that we would trust is deceased sadly."

Bathroom Fan Installation questions, answered by experts

Most duct booster fans are not designed to run continuously, though some models can be programmed for constant operation. Typically, they are controlled by the user via a switch, controls on the unit itself, or by being wired to the HVAC system's thermostat. Wiring the fan to a thermostat allows it to run automatically only when heating or cooling is active, which saves energy and is an effective way to activate the fan only when needed to address issues like uneven room temperatures.

Identifying the source of noises is your first step to soundproofing a room without overspending. Generally, sound comes from inside or outside of the house. Inside noises include creaking floors, living noises like TVs in the living room, cooking sounds, or kids being kids. External noises generally include incremental weather, disturbing neighbors, and street traffic. Inside noises require you to soundproof floors, ceilings, and doors, whereas outside noises may require you to soundproof your attic, windows, and walls facing the streets.

It is unlikely that a ceiling fan will fall, even if it develops a wobble. During a proper installation, ceiling fans are securely bolted to a ceiling joist, and the fasteners used for mounting are generally separate from the components related to balancing. A wobble is typically caused by an imbalance, which can be annoying and may lead to other issues, but is not usually dangerous on its own.

However, if a fan is wobbling because it was not installed correctly, it could be at risk of falling. For safety, it's always a good idea to ensure all mounting screws are tight and to address any wobbling or imbalance issues promptly.

The average life span of a thermoelectric fan operating seasonally is two to three years. However, the life span of a wood stove fan depends on its quality, usage, and maintenance. Regular cleaning of the blades and ensuring the fan operates within its recommended temperature range can help prolong its life span.

Your bathroom exhaust fan shouldn't be loud. However, bath fans come in a wide variety of models, price points, and loudness characteristics, and yours may be louder or quieter than others you notice. Economy models tend to be the noisiest, with levels of 4.0 sones or more, which is about the sound of an electric shaver, while some high-end models can be barely audible.
