"We wanted a partial bathroom renovation (removing old wall and floor tile set in concrete and replacing the tile and some fixtures) but several large contractors either declined our job as too difficult, or submitted bids far beyond our budget. Buffalo Backsplash owner and head contractor Jarrett Kowal looked it over and said “Sure, we can do that”. He gave us an estimate well within our means and proceeded to do a great job, despite encountering the usual problems of construction in a very old house. Kowal and his crew are uniformly skilled craftsmen and nice guys. We warmly and enthusiastically recommend them."

"I had Brent Construction repair my dining room ceiling after a leaking roof caused it to fall. They did an amazing job. The owner was professional, showed up when he said he would and charged a very reasonable price. I would highly recommend and will definitely use in the future."

I’ve worked in commercial carpentry for 3 years with the union. Decided to switch to remodeling and worked for a company called Cortese Construction for the last 3 years. There I learned how to renovate both large and small kitchen and bathrooms. I can set cabinets, install LVP flooring, tile, hang and finish drywall, paint, install windows and doors, trim, and framing. I can work in the Erie and Niagara county areas.

"My 70 year old bathtub looks brand new and I am so pleased! Chris and Masum did a fabulous job...they were helpful, courteous and professional. They answered every question I had, and cleaned up my bathroom very well. Munro staff, Joanne and Diane, very friendly and gave me instant quote directly over the phone. I would definitely recommend Munro if you want a new and affordable tub and or tile!"

"My wife and I wanted our bathroom remodeled. After reaching out to a couple companies we weren't sure about following through as we only have one full and didn't want this to interfere with our holiday plans. Talked to Jarett and decided to move forward and WOW! The job was done right on time and the tiling is absolutely beautiful. When we're ready for our kitchen to be retiled we're going to save a lot of time by calling Tile Brothers from the get-go."

Ceramic Tile questions, answered by experts

Deciding between using a shower pan or tile will likely come down to the shower’s design. You can learn how to install a shower pan liner, but it has a standard look similar to most other showers, though there is some flexibility for material and color choices. Tile, on the other hand, can be customized and is set directly into the shower base. However, a shower tile floor is more difficult to install than a shower pan.

Whether you want to match your tile trim with grout comes down to your personal preferences. If you match the two, it can help your tiles to stand out while providing a clean, cohesive look. On the other hand, you might opt to match your tile trim with your tiles. The best option will depend largely on your tile design, as well as how it fits overall with the rest of your room.

The cost depends on the type of natural stone. High-end stones can cost as much as porcelain, but it depends on the specific material. For example, the cost of flagstone pavers is typically $2 to $6 per square foot, which is much more budget-friendly than porcelain. Outdoor slate tile can cost as much as $35 per square foot, which is about the same as porcelain.

On average, tiling a shower costs between $1,800 and $5,000, with most people paying around $2,700. The price of this project depends on multiple factors, including the kind of tile you choose, the size of your shower, and labor rates in your area. If you decide to tile your own shower (instead of hiring a professional), it’ll likely cost $800 to $1,400.

The rule tells you how to cut tile to install it in a corner. The 3/4/5 rule recommends that you should have 3 feet across on one straight line, four feet on the other perpendicular line, and 5 feet of length from the end of one of the lines to the other. You’re making a right triangle with the tile, and the hypotenuse (the line across from where the 3-foot lie and 4-foot line meet) should be 5 feet long.
