"I hired them to install three exterior lights, by my front and back doors & garage. I had the fixtures, just needed someone to install. Good work at a reasonable price. I subsequently hired them to fix some wood rot by my garage door. Ivan cams in, cut out and replaced the bad pieces, caulked and repainted. Excellent job!"

"I sent a request quote to Safe Streets and my phone was ringing within 1 minute. Impressed with the quick responsiveness. They are partnered with ADT which made our choice to get our alarm system through them a no brainer."

"Dale was terrific he arrived on time, was prepared to go to work, on arrival. Picked up a few necessary items, I didn’t have. Started and finished the job, cleaned up. Left with a functioning Ring doorbell that was connected to hard wire. Very professional and thorough."

"The owner came out the week before to look at a circuit that would not reset and some light switches that were not functioning properly. While inspecting the panel he noted its age and the unavailability of parts. We were aware that the service should be upgraded as we had other quotes from about 5+ years ago. He was thorough and fully explained what would be involved and
provided an immediate quote. The quote seemed reasonable. Based upon past quotes it was higher, but we were also having some additional outlet and light switch work done. We agreed and he scheduled the work for a week later.
We received a confirmation call from the office the day before they were to arrive. The two workers arrived at the scheduled time. They were friendly and explained what they were going to do, what they needed to see and the expected time frames. They set to work. They were neat, orderly and appeared to concentrate closely on their work ? a good quality for electricians.
The installation required moving the height of the electrical box on the outside of the house as well as installing a new riser (the pipe that goes through the roof that the electrical wires attach to from the telephone/electric poles). This required drilling large holes through the roof and overhang. They were meticulous in this process as our overhangs are vinyl covered so they were
careful to cut the hole as precisely as possible and carefully finished the flashing and sealing of the riser on the roof. As a side note, another contractor that was at our house later wanted to know who did our electrical installation as they remarked what good work had been done on the riser install ? they said they see a lot of sloppy jobs, but this one was very professional.
At one point the lead electrician came to us and said that in the install of the new main service wire into the house, the outer casing had been nicked. He said that he felt it was best to replace it even though a patch of the plastic coating is the acceptable remedy. He said that the longevity of replacement wire versus a patch was more assured, but they would have to come back
the next morning to do that replacement, which they did, and at the appointed time. At the end of the first day, they cleaned up everything, all of the wire bits and casings where the new panel was installed, all of the wires and old parts outside.  Then they also went room by room and tested all of the outlets to identify which circuit they were on and did a detailed labeling of our new panel.
We would highly recommend them. They were professional, they were knowledgeable, they worked steady and deliberately, they cleaned up, they showed up when they said they would, they took the time to explain the new panel and as mentioned above, they were competitively priced.

"Norm was an extremely knowledgable in all of the home security and up and coming smart home technologies. He walked me through every step of my security camera installation and even described to me the benefits of running Ethernet instead of coax. "Not only did they do some electrical wiring upgrades but also installed backyard lighting including landscape lighting and motion sensor lights. Installed electric to our hot tub. Ran conduit and installed power to our outdoor "tiki bar" During the holidays they did our Christmas lights. On a Sunday afternoon we placed an emergency call as we noticed smoke and smell coming from our outdoor meter. They not only showed up right away but found that our meter was completely corroded and a potential hazard so they worked for hours until the job was finished. They are always consistently on time, very knowledgeable, and extremely professional. I will continue to use them for future needs and highly recommend them!!"

FAQs for ring installation projects in Chaffee, NY

The average cost of a home security system is about $700, ranging from $280 to $1,150. Costs to consider include equipment, surveillance fees, and other additional features. Cost factors that determine your system’s price include the type of security system, materials, labor, activation fees, monthly fees, and permits. Additional features and upgrades may include:

  • Video surveillance monitoring: $40–$65 per month

  • Smart home locks: $150

  • Smart home lighting: $15–$90

  • Smart smoke, fire, and carbon monoxide alarms: $35–$100

  • Smart thermostat: $130–$500

It’s important to ask an electrician a few questions before you commit to hiring them so you can make an informed decision as a consumer. If you’re getting estimates or considering hiring an electrician, ask them these questions:

  • Are you a full-time electrician?

  • Are you bonded, licensed, and insured?

  • What level of experience do you have as an electrician?

  • Can you please share three references?

  • Do you do residential or commercial electrical work?

  • What kinds of electrical work are you most familiar with?

  • Will any subcontractors be performing the work?

  • Are permits and inspections required?

  • Who is responsible for obtaining permits and inspections?

  • What is your schedule?

  • Do you offer a guarantee or warranty on your work?

  • Will you sign a do-not-exceed clause to keep the job within the budget?

Yes, you should get a quote or an estimate from an electrician. Most electricians offer free estimates or quotes. When getting quotes, do your research and verify each electrician’s license. Get quotes from three different electricians to compare. If the prices or items listed appear different on the quotes, ask the electrician to clarify. Learning as much as you can about the electrical work you want done will help you get the most accurate estimate.

Yes, a home security system can be worth it for your peace of mind alone, but it can also save you up to 20% on your home insurance. The insurance savings will help defray the initial setup costs and subscription costs over time. Locations with higher crime rates also make home security systems a valuable investment, but it ultimately depends on your personal preferences and asset values.

Qualified, licensed electricians will charge from $50 to $100 per hour. The cost to hire an electrician for emergency visits may range from $100 to $200 per hour because this urgent service usually takes place during off hours and may require an electrician to leave or reschedule jobs they’re currently working on. Scheduling work on holidays or during periods of high customer demand, like after a major storm, will also lead to higher rates or extra fees.
