"We faced a plumbing emergency on Friday afternoon. The supply line to our bathroom sink sprung a leak, the shutoff valve was corroded shut, and other parts were failing and needed replacement. All of the plumbers we have used previously were unavailable. We called Boss Pro and they came quickly and stopped the leak. They collected all the parts necessary to correct the situation and came back to complete the repairs and reinstall the sink. We are very pleased with their work and will call them the next time we have a plumbing problem."

"Jerry Saliba and his crew at C&J did an excellent job of building a 350 SF deck using Trex decking, railing, and fascia.  Jerry was very professional, providing numerous suggestions to improve the overall design.  He received accolades from the local building inspector for the quality of his work.  He was very timely in providing an estimate, ordering material, and completing the work on the deck.  He also coordinated with a concrete company to pour a 635 SF concrete pad surrounding the deck and supporting the deck stairs.  When the original concrete contractor bailed without warning, Jerry worked very hard to find a replacement that met the original timeline and estimated cost.  We were very, very pleased with the deck and pad.  C&J provided an excellent product at a reasonable price.  We would certainly use C&J and Jerry Saliba again."

Bathtub Replacement questions, answered by experts

If you don’t caulk your bathtub, then there won’t be a watertight seal between your bathtub and the wall tile surrounding it. As a result, water can seep into the wall and the floor and cause the perfect breeding grounds for mold and mildew. Not only does this require costly repairs, but mold can be harmful to those breathing it.

Yes, you can remove a bathtub yourself if you have previous DIY experience and basic plumbing knowledge. You should have at least one other person help you if you approach this project as a DIY. However, hiring a plumber or bathroom remodeling pro can prevent accidental damage from demolition or water leakage.

An alcove tub is designed to fit into a three-walled enclosure in a bathroom. A drop-in tub, on the other hand, is placed into a custom-built frame or enclosure. This frame can be fitted to an alcove, making a drop-in tub a viable alternative if you want a more custom or spa-like look. Because the frame is custom, drop-in tubs offer more design flexibility and a wider range of materials, such as cultured marble or tile, compared to the simpler acrylic or fiberglass of a typical alcove tub. The frame for a drop-in tub can also be placed anywhere in the bathroom it fits, not just in an alcove.

The reasons not to install flooring underneath a bathtub outweigh the benefits. A properly installed bathtub will keep water from reaching the unprotected subfloor underneath. Installing a tub on top of finished flooring can lead to damage and scratches to the new floor. Also, a small leak from a tub drain may be more difficult to notice if finished flooring impedes water drips.

The cost to replace a bathtub is $2,000 to $9,400. Whether you want to spruce up your bathroom or your existing bathtub is not functioning correctly, purchasing a new tub costs about $5,700 with installation. Prices depend on the type and size of the tub.
