"Williams Paving was everything you’d want in pavers. Bill the owner came out at a convenient time for me, measured the driveway himself, and sent me a quote. We arranged a time for the paving and he kept an eye on the weather. Bill worked along side his crew and they were a hardworking and efficient group. It was really nice to see the way in which these folks worked together. They were very thorough. Everything was cleaned up afterwards and left in beautiful condition. I cannot praise them enough! They did a fantastic job and were very respectful of me and my property. Hire Williams Paving; they are fantastic!!"

"Went really well!! Fadale Enterprises has done projects for me in the past. "Great service all around. Plowing was excellent. Always came promptly and cleared the driveway of all ice and snow. His service was excellent for snowplowing so we are trying out his lawn maintenance and landscaping. So far he has done spring cleanup and rolling. Very thorough. I would recommend him to anyone."

Since driveways affect your curb appeal, you should also ask each company for references and pictures of recent work to make sure the work the company does is professional and high quality. Finally, check that the company is licensed and insured.

Professional installers often include a deep layer of crushed gravel under permeable pavers to allow more runoff to soak through into the soil below. Many installations will include multiple layers of gravel, with coarser aggregate at the base and finer aggregate that sits on top of that bottom layer. Above the gravel, you’ll often find coarse sand that helps reduce paver shifting over time. Some permeable paver designs include a water collection system set into the gravel layer to route runoff to a safe area for disposal.

If pavers are uneven but not sunken, lift the affected bricks and check the bedding sand underneath. In many cases, simply smoothing out or adjusting the sand is enough to level them. Add or remove small amounts as needed, then press the pavers back into place and tap them with a mallet until they sit evenly with the surrounding surface.

Compared to a 10x20 concrete driveway costing between $800 and $3,000, a resin bound driveway of the same size costing $3,900 to $4,000 is the more expensive option. However, the cost still makes resin a cheaper option compared to a 10x20 paver driveway costing an average of $12,000.

You can pour concrete over asphalt if it’s in good condition, thick, stable, and well-compacted. Concrete is more durable than asphalt and can extend the lifetime of your driveway without having to pay frequent asphalt driveway repair costs or replace it completely. 

But this is best reserved as a temporary solution based on budget restraints, as asphalt requires more frequent repairs and assessments than concrete. Once that concrete top is poured, it’ll be harder to accurately understand what’s happening beneath that layer, which could lead to more issues.
