"Dreadful experience. We had been customers of Astacio since 2015 when they installed our first tankless boiler which failed completely after 7 years and needed to be replaced in late 2022. ($10,000+) Their second one just stopped working; a dodgy board? The part is under warranty but they want almost $1,000 to replace it in the boiler; probably less than 2 hours work. I thought they used to be a good local business with ties to the community but be careful; their tankless boilers are unreliable and they'll try to rip you off when your heat goes out in the winter. So much for standing by their work. I'll never use them again."

I checked the price of this job ahead of time as I always do with any work that needs to be done at my home. Parts and labor, I always need to know up front. I do not like it when any workers come off as greedy and try to insult my intelligence. I hope the work of this young man lasts. However, I would have been able to give him 5 stars, if he had chosen to fully conduct himself as a professional in the end. This plumber was paid $1700. Additionally, make sure you’re using a sink plunger—with a flat bottom—and not a toilet plunger—which has a smaller bottom protruding from the larger flat piece.

Costs depend on clog severity, pipe condition, equipment required, and labor.

A bit of water in the bowl can help unclog a toilet, especially if you're using a plunger. However, if the bowl is full to the brim, you'll need to strap on gloves and remove some of the wastewater in a cup or container so it doesn't overflow when you try to unblock the pipe. If you're concerned about it filling further, manually close the flapper in the toilet tank or turn off the water supply to the toilet.
