"every (positive) review says it all! on time, conscientious and entheuastic about his work, meticulous in his cleanup, and he ain't kiddin' about 24/7 service - came out on a sunday! inspected the project (fixing a pocket door), said he had to do some research, and came back on tuesday with the necessary parts and had the problem fixed in less than 2 hours! and what he charged was way more than reasonable! and a pleasant and fun guy! would HIGHLY recommend him and will definitely call him again for any other issues that pop up! thanks, cesar!"

"They came in and fixed a hole in our dry wall that was located in the ceiling. They did a fantastic job and took the time to make sure it was done right and even took the time to clean their area and around it to above industry standards."

"Had 4 tasks needed done around the house. Worker couldn't finish the weatherproofing/weatherstripping, but I still had to pay for a portion of the work + materials for unfinished portion. Would have been better if I had been told they were unable to do it in the first place, instead I had to pay for portion of uncompleted work. The other 3 tasks were done with ease and competence."

Childproofing questions, answered by experts

The average cost of childproofing services is $410. This cost can range from $190 to $630 or more, depending on the size of your home and what services you need.

The location of the childproofing additions also plays a vital role in the overall cost. For example, a bathroom is relatively small and costs about $150 to fully childproof. However, if you have a swimming pool, you could spend as much as $1,500 to $10,000 to make it entirely safe for small children, including adding a pool fence.

In many cases, you can DIY home childproofing with success. You can purchase childproofing tools like cabinet locks, outlet covers, and table-edge guards and install them easily.

However, it's best to have a professional childproofing service work on larger projects like pool safety or furniture anchoring. These safety measures can take a lot of time and effort to DIY, plus, you want to ensure the tasks are done correctly to keep your child safe.

A professional childproofer will first survey your home to identify potentially dangerous locations, including stairs, cabinets, and pools. Once approved, your professional will order and install the safety equipment for you.

Some ways a childproofing professional will make your home safe include:

  • Anchoring large furniture

  • Installing safety gates

  • Installing safety latches on cabinets and drawers

  • Covering railings that could trap a child

  • Covering electrical outlets

  • Installing a swimming pool fence

  • Removing or covering electrical cords where possible

Many parents, especially first-time parents, agree that professional childproofing is worth it. These professional childproofing services are trained to recognize dangerous home situations that many people would overlook until it's too late. Furthermore, professional childproofing experts have access to top-of-the-line equipment you can't purchase at most stores, providing longevity and peace of mind.

Yes, tamper-resistant outlets are a safe and effective way to protect children from electrical hazards. They feature a spring-loaded shutter that blocks the outlet slots when not in use, preventing a child from inserting foreign objects. While they are the safest option available, it's important to note that few things can be considered truly 'childproof.' Children may still try to imitate adults by inserting a plug, so constant supervision around any electrical device is recommended. Tamper-resistant outlets are a much safer solution than childproofing covers, which can be removed by children and may pose a choking hazard.
