Sears subcontracted with A & E appliance warranty repair. They were in a nutshell incompetent. After multiple visits over 5 weeks, my dishwasher was no closer to being repaired than when i started. Due to its age, the dishwasher couldn't be repaired.

Business Description:
We sell and service outdoor power equipment, i.e. snow blowers, lawn mowers, chainsaws, string trimmers, hedge trimmers. Our inventory ranges from commercial to residential. We also have a good supply of parts. We can assist in financing largerer purchases through Sheffield Financing.

Only reason used was that they had the part in stock. That was the highlight. Arrogance permeates the operation, from the signs on the counter to the attitude of the staff. Cost was twice that of the competition. I usually go out of my way to patronize the little guy but these folks make it difficult. Other providers in the area are more accommodating and certainly more professional. Noted response to my complaint. Funny it had nothing to do with the experience since the part I purchased was in stock, no order placed. No attempt at service provided. Complaint stems from counter man's demeanor. Plenty of other service providers that combine knowledge, inventory and good customer service.

NEVADA POWER PRODUCTS INCGreat! Nevada Power Products did a wonderful job on my 10-year-old mower, which I had sorely neglected. They replaced the blades, carburetor, spark plug and did an oil change, as well as other tune-up maintenance. It runs better than it has in years! They specialize in Honda small motors, and their store is clean, and the staff are professional, courteous and responsive. I definitely recommend them. They sell lawnmowers, boat engines, generators and tillers, among other small motors, as well.- Melanie P.

Sierra Repair And SharpeningWe took our mower in to have the blades sharpened and replace the pull cord. We spoke to a gentlemen regarding the service we wanted and he encouraged us to take advantage of their tune up service. He quoted the tune up service would be $125 and that it included sharpening the blades, rebuilding the carburetor (which he indicated was an $80 job), changing the oil and blade sharpening, he also stated that the $125 would include replacing the pull cord. He did indicate that our mower was about a $250 mower and wanted to make sure we were ok with spending that to fix it, we appreciated this and were ok with going forward as it was still cheaper than buying new. He said he just wanted to make sure we were aware so there were 'no surprises' when we picked it up. They told us it would be ready in about a week. We received a call when it was ready and my husband was told that the repairs were $136, he inquired about the extra charges and the mechanic indicated that the person that did out paperwork neglected to factor in the labor for rewinding the cord. We were anxious to get the mower back to start our yard work for spring so we didn't quibble about the difference, we chalked it up to an honest mistake. When we arrived at the shop, the mechanic that spoke to my husband was checking us out. He gave us the total $136 and went over the work performed. He said the did the tune up and fixed the wind cord. We asked about the blades and carburetor and he indicated the carburetor did not need work and they did not sharpen the blades. We asked why the blades weren't sharpened and he indicated it was a paperwork issue. We asked if they could sharpen the blades real quick and he indicated there would be additional charges. My husband and I were very confused and asked the mechanic if they did less work for what we were quoted how could it possibly cost us more. We asked to speak to the gentleman that we spoke with when we dropped it off. As soon as he came from the back office we explained what our position was and questioned why were we being charged more money for less work. His attitude was completely different on this trip and he said he would look at our paperwork. He said he understood the misunderstanding about the rewind cord, that it was his fault he didn't input it on our paperwork, we said we didn't have a problem with paying the little extra for the labor for rewinding the cord... honest mistake... he then asked what more we needed? Really? How about getting the service we were quoted and were to pay for? He then became very condescending. My husband was not happy but that is no reason to get snarky with the customer. He made us feel like we were trying to cheat them out of money. He finally asked 'What do you want to pay?' I calmly stated we would be happy to pay for the services performed. They did not rebuild the carburetor ($80) and did not sharpen the blades. We told him we would be happy to pay the $136 minus those two services. He then popped off with how about $50 and you can take your mower right now. He never offered to do right by the quote and perform the other work. We paid the $50 and walked out with the mower. The only reason I give them a D and not an F is because the did reduce the price and they did a good job on replacing the pull cord and the mower started right up when we got home. I could not believe he tried to make us feel like we were swindling them and I will never return to this business.- Karie E.

Sears Home ServicesAwful! It took about a month to "repair" my chainsaw and cost more than a new chainsaw would have. It refused to start and clearly had never been tested after the "repairs". Because the repair center is very inconveniently located, it took about a month and a half to get back over there. At that time I was informed that Sears only warranties their repairs for 30 days. I will NEVER buy another power tool from Sears!- Peter J.
