Our Commitment to Playground Safety We are committed to providing the safest playground environment possible. Doing so improves the quality of life for those playing on it, as well as for those building it. Seeing happy children, of all abilities, playing on the environmentally friendly product that we provide is our the greatest reward! In fact, ensuring that playground regulation safety regulations are kept current and to be the voice of children and families who play is what prompted Robertson Industries GM and Corporate VP, Richard Hawley, to join the IPEMA (International Play Equipment Manufacturers Association) Board of Directors. Our Commitment to the Environment Robertson Industries is committed to doing its part to improve the environment, Robertson's Beginning Robertson Industries started in Arizona in 1991 and was used primarily for pool deck installations in the commercial and residential markets. It was the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) regulations that propelled us into the playground market to help provide the ultimate in accessibility, while meeting all safety guidelines. Our Growth Since 1991 we have added service centers to Arizona,California, Nevada, Texas, and Florida. Each center is staffed with specially trained sales and installation personnel.

The Rock and Roll Kids program is designed for parents/guardians and their children to learn, play, socialize, and listen to great music. But most importantly it is place for kids and their grown-ups to spend quality time together.

Playground Equipment questions, answered by experts

Generally speaking, building a swing set is cheaper than buying a prefabricated one, but this assumes you have all the tools and knowledge to complete the project. The average cost to build a swing set is $514, but you should also factor in the time and effort it will require—if you don’t want to give up your weekend, it’s worth considering buying instead of building.

If your seedlings have reached a few inches in height and the weather outside has stabilized to where you’re no longer seeing overnight temperatures below 40 degrees Fahrenheit, it may be time to start hardening them off to get them ready to be planted in the garden.

It’s usually possible to install a playground yourself, but we don’t recommend it. Playground construction can be complicated and involves moving large, heavy, and bulky components into place while you affix them to other pieces. Not only is the work physically demanding, but any mistakes could reduce the lifespan of your playground and potentially put any children who use the equipment at risk of injury. It’s relatively inexpensive to hire a professional playground installer, and it’s usually worth the investment, if only for the peace of mind it provides.

Yes! It’s always a good idea to anchor your playset. Even though they’re heavy, it doesn’t take much wind to blow one over. Anchoring everything to the ground makes it a lot safer for your kiddos.

Wood, metal, and plastic are common materials. Choose based on durability, aesthetics, and maintenance needs.
