"Deteriorated company. I have been a long time customer of Cacti. However, since 2020 the quality of their service has greatly deteriorated. There has been multiple occasions where the crew they sent serviced my neighbor’s house. In addition to that, there were multiple occasions where the crew simply didn’t clean my backyard. I have a Ring system and after checking you can see a Cacti member enter my backyard, looked around, and walk back out. Nothing was cleaned. When you call customer service, don’t expect an apology instead be prepare to provide proof via pictures. When the Cacti crew does perform the service, it is nothing short of sloppy. I gave them 3 years to resolve their issues but it has not improve so I am now changing provider."

"$100,000 hole in the ground I’m not sure how A&S pools has any good reviews. I can only assume they were written after a bribe offer as one was offered to me too, but I did not respond. Zero customer service, lengthy delays for missing parts and extended employee absences with zero communication, failed inspections, broken equipment and unanswered warranty calls. (Equipment is still broken) The design photos of my pool showed tile around the spa, but they only tiled one side. When I asked the project manager when they were coming out to tile the rest, he literally laughed out loud in front of me. True, it wasn’t in the contract, but it wasn’t reviewed verbally and the images I was shown had tile all around. It’s not about the money, it’s about being honest, communicative, responsible business people and Anthony & Sylvan Pools is not. Buyer beware."

The short answer is that the cost to build a staircase largely depends on what material they’re made out of and how many you need. Wood stairs cost about $50 to $100 per step for materials alone, while labor costs an additional $100 to $250 per step. The cost increases for more expensive materials such as glass or concrete.

In many cases, you will need a building permit for your patio, but it depends on the type of patio. Generally speaking, any improvements to your land considered “permanent” will require a permit. Since a concrete patio is a permanent foundation, you will need a permit. On the other hand, a paver patio or flagstone patio usually sits over gravel and sand, are considered “temporary” improvements, and rarely require permits. To be safe, you should always ask your building department or your patio company if a permit will be necessary.

With proper maintenance, exterior concrete steps can last 25 to 50 years or more. In most cases, your steps will require some minor repairs over that time frame, including sealing surface cracks and resurfacing to keep them in good condition. Interior concrete steps should last even longer, normally between 50 and 75 years, as they don’t have to stand up to the elements.

Stepping stones should match an average human stride, so the general rule is to place them about 24 inches between stones. However, many designs put stones closer together. If you choose to plant in between them, leave at least 6 to 8 inches between stones to give plants room to grow.

While some areas may allow for a slope of up to 20%, this is often the maximum slope for driveways, with a few exceptions of up to 25%. Other regions may have a maximum of 12%, 15%, or 18%, so check with your local building department to ensure you’re laying a driveway that is up to code for your location.
