"The work was performed thoroughly and professionally. I was especially glad that they did a proper job of sanding and preparing the wood surfaces before painting. They made sure that I was happy with the result before they left."

"Working with Mark, from the first phone call to arrange for an appointment for an estimate, through to my final contact once the job was completed, was a pleasure. During my estimate, Mark was very comforting explaining my options. Even though I ended up going with the high-end quality paint, I never felt pressured in any way. I found that the cost for this job was very reasonable. Albert and the rest of the crew always arrived early each day, and always immediately began work once on site. They were all very professional, courteous, no unnecessary noise, and happy to answer my questions. Upon completion, Albert and the crew were very accommodating as we looked over the job for any missed spots (which were very few). Overall, to paint my 3 bedroom two story house, Paint Pros completed the job over three days (half day power wash; full day prep, primer on bare wood and paint; then partial day of accent painting and touch up/clean up). Being someone who works in the banking software industry, I also found it very refreshing to find a company like Paint Pros that uses electronic documents (like DocuSign)... I think this reflects Mark's professional approach with his company. I would definitely recommend Paint Pros for your painting needs, and I would consider hiring again when the need arises. Thanks again Mark!!"

"I have used Juan several times. Over time he has painted the inside of my house and everything is always perfect. When finished everything is cleaned up and back in order. I recently had him epoxy paint my garage floor, cleaning up a job resulting from a scammer. lesson learned!! He also painted my garage door and it looks like new! He lets you know when he’ll be there and he does a top notch job at a reasonable price. You won’t be disappointed."

Deck Staining questions, answered by experts

It’s best to prime composite decking before painting. This promotes better paint adhesion, helps create a smooth finish, and can mean the paint job will last longer. Always follow the manufacturer’s instructions for application, allow ample primer drying time before painting (typically 24 to 48 hours), and thoroughly clean the deck boards to promote the best adhesion.

Yes, staining or sealing a cedar deck or fence is highly recommended to extend its lifespan, typically by five to 10 years. While cedar is naturally resistant to mold and mildew, it can still fall victim to moisture, sun exposure, and rot over time. Applying a treatment creates a protective shield that helps prevent splintering, fading, and decay, preserving the wood's strength and appearance. A combination stain and sealer often provides the best protection, as it soaks into the wood grain rather than just sitting on top. This offers superior defense against UV damage and rot and lasts longer than a sealer alone. To maintain the wood's natural look, consider using a near-translucent stain. You should plan to reapply the stain or sealer every two to three years.

Two coats of stain are ideal for the best protection and aesthetic appeal. However, if your decking is made of particularly dense hardwood, you may only need one coat. If you want an intense color, two coats are ideal.

If your biggest concern is making sure your deck doesn’t show dirt, opt for a darker neutral color that blends in well with your surrounding landscape. A rich brown or dark grey are both good options that work with a variety of house colors. A high-quality acrylic paint is easy to clean and maintain, so it might be worth spending the money on.

To make sure the paint won’t bubble as you apply it, make sure to paint on a day that’s cooler than 85 degrees Fahrenheit. When the temperature is too high, the paint won’t dry evenly, which can result in bubbles forming on the surface. Another way to prevent paint from bubbling is to clean the walls, apply primer, and let everything dry completely before you begin.
