"Felipe and his crew did a large project for me (back porch) and myriad smaller items to repair our new home. Short version: I'll definitely be using them again and recommending them, but you need to be engaged. They are not a set-and-forget crew. In general, the quality of the work is high. The porch is exactly as we imagined it and we're quite happy. The only issues I have with some of the work is the fit and finish. Roofing nails missing the joists weren't redone, so now there are nails hanging into my porch. The ramset nails they used to attach the base plate to the concrete pad had some kind of wax/rubber around them which wasn't completely removed prior to painting, so there are weird nubs sticking up on the base plate. Some of the screws on door moulding weren't puttied over. The biggest issue I had with them was communication and scheduling. Felipe forgot a few parts of the project and things got dropped a few times. It worked out because I was paying close attention, but I think he may just have too much going on so things will fall between the cracks. Scheduling was a regular issue. Our project took place right outside of our bedroom, so we wanted to know the night before if they would be there. It was about 50/50 whether they'd give us that heads up. They also broke an expensive high security lock and I was not reimbursed or discounted. On the scale of the project, it was a rounding error in cost, but it's the principle of the matter on that one."

Servicing Butler, Beaver, and Allegheny counties. Webster Renovations & Repairs provides a clean, professional experience for those looking to renew or reimagine their space.
"I was looking for a contractor to replace my front porch and upgrade my back porch but had no clue where to start and what contractor to use. No recommendations came forth from friends or family so I took to the internet to find a contractor, which in my experience is a recipe for disaster. Call it good energy from the universe or luck or whatever but I found Webster Renovations & Repairs. After meeting several times with Josh, the owner, I couldn't have been more comfortable entering into a contract for the work. He was polite, present, knowledgeable. Spent time with me explaining details. Webster's work was meticulous and every detail perfect. Like they were building it for their mother. Now I know I can rely on Webster for future projects and let my friends and family know that Webster is the way to go. I highly recommend Josh and his team. Highly caring and highly skilled!"

For more than 60 years, ServiceMaster Fire & Water Restoration by Rapid Response has set the standard for water damage services, fire and smoke restoration and mold damage. Give us a call at (505) 428-0084
"Two employees, a supervisor and his helper showed up 50 minutes late to begin 'containment' of interior leak areas with no masks. I am 85 and immune compromised and was masked. The supervisor went to his truck and retrieved his mask but the other worker had forgotten his mask. The supervisor still wanted them both to come inside, saying he could not do his job alone so I gave the worker a new mask of mine. The employee in charge then started yelling and I asked him to please speak softer as someone was one on the phone in an adjacent room. He refused saying he could not speak softer. "OK, lets go in another room" and they followed me into the office and we closed the door. The supervisor, still shouting, refused to let me speak and ordered his helper to block off my studio from my office. This was against my previous agreement with ServiceMaster where I had asserted, as a pro musician, I needed some way to access my studio during repairs. He paid no notice and put papers on my desk for me to sign. I said I had to be listened to as I was in charge as to what is done to my house. I asked if he could live with that. He replied NO. I said if that were the case he would have to leave. At no time did I speak impolitely to him. He angrily picked up the unsigned papers and left. I have called ServiceMaster 4x to report this and was told the manager would get back to me. I am still waiting, suspicious of any company hiring people like this and not responding to their customers. Beware."

Experienced and Trusted Company! Specialized in Comercial & Exterior Painting.
Experienced and Trusted Company! Specialized in Comercial & Exterior Painting.
The average cost to hire a woodworker for a project in your home is around $65 per hour, but hourly rates can range from $35 to $250 or more, depending on the experience and skill of the woodworker. Your total woodworking project cost will depend on the complexity of the work, the type of wood, the number of projects, and any other materials your project requires. You could hire a professional woodworker to create everything from a custom cabinet to ornate, unique staircases.
Generally, general contractors charge between $50 and $150 hourly, though not every contractor charges by the hour. If charging based on the project, you can expect a markup of 10% to 20% of the construction cost. You can expect to pay between $300 and $500 daily if charged by the day.
While city and state laws vary on general contractor licensing requirements, hiring an unlicensed general contractor could lead to poor quality work, costly future expenses, and potential code violations. Be sure to check our state licensing tool to review the local general contractor guidelines for your area.
As you browse our pro listings, take note of the “Angi Approved” badge. Angi Approved businesses meet our standards for certification which include:
The owner, principal, or relevant manager passed a criminal background check
Required to have applicable state and local licenses
Maintain an average star rating of 3.0 or better on our network, if they have at least one review
Paying to advertise their services
Meeting any other eligibility criteria required by Angi
Keep in mind licensing is different from certifications. A license is a legal requirement to operate a business, while certifications are voluntary.
Every woodworker has different skills and experience, so we recommend asking the following questions when hiring a woodworker for your project:
How long have you been in the woodworking industry?
What experience do you have with my type of project?
Do you have customer references I can speak with?
How long do you expect my project to take?
What is my recourse if I have an issue with your work?
Do you charge hourly or per project?
Will you work on-site or in your own workshop?
Does your fee include the necessary post-job clean-up?
While they perform similar tasks, a carpenter is responsible for the woodworking that goes into construction—like framing, installing sheathing, and hanging kitchen cabinets—while a woodworker tackles more intricate and custom projects—like building custom furniture and installing wainscoting. Based on these definitions, most woodworkers can tackle the jobs of a carpenter, but you should always ask about your specific project when choosing a woodworker to ensure they have the necessary skills to tackle the job.
