"Bill did an excellent job of filling, sanding, and painting the columns, vigas, and latillas. For the wood under the portal where we wanted to maintain stain, he did a beautiful job of matching the wood and making the filled areas look natural. He also painted our ductwork and other metal components to color match the stucco, repairing the stucco in a few places along the way. Bill is extremely reliable, meticulous in his cleanup, and fairly priced. Our next door neighbors saw Bill's work and hired him for their project."

"Ruele did a terrific job replacing the stucco on our home and our casita. Their crew is great - very professional, competent, friendly and considerate. I really appreciated the thorough and careful way they approached their work and their attention to detail. I would highly recommend Ruele."

"It turned out fine. I had to travel back to the East Coast to visit some some other family. Then I came back and left a friend in charge of monitoring the install after I returned to Alaska. They did the work after the fact of me being there.

From the pictures that my friend took of their work, there was only 1 problem. But they came back and repaired it. I guess the supervisor came back and did a walk over after his crew did the work and he cleaned it up. They also advised me of some other work that needs to be done and that turned out pretty good too as far as the estimate. They will probably do it this summer. I plan on using them again on the stucco work.

"Mariano Aragon did a fantastic job of repairing some seriously damaged areas in my kitchen and guest bathroom. After the plumbing repairs were complete both rooms were a disaster area. Mariano came to the rescue, rebuilt all the structural damage and did beautuful refinishing of the plaster and and a masterful job of marrying the new tiles he replaced with the existing tiles that weren’t damaged. I am more than happy with the final results! Mariano was cheerful, thoughtful and completely reliable through out the days of his restoration project for me. I highly recommend him for his excellent, inventive and superior work!"

Glaziers questions, answered by experts

Address exterior glass and mirror service immediately if you notice moisture entering your adobe walls or broken panes in hazardous locations. Repair cracked exterior glass and failed window seals before the freezing NM winter arrives to prevent severe damage and heat loss. Schedule cosmetic interior mirror upgrades or decorative glass additions for the ideal summer installation window, avoiding the harsh spring winds and winter freeze entirely.

Helpful?

Combining glass and mirror service with other home updates is an excellent strategy in Taos. Pair window upgrades with weatherization improvements or adobe wall re-plastering to minimize disruption. Bundle bathroom mirror installations with plumbing or tile work to streamline contractor visits. Coordinate skylight repairs with scheduled roof maintenance to protect your flat roof. However, separate your projects if your property requires strict historic preservation reviews to avoid approval delays.

Helpful?

Start planning your glass and mirror service by checking if your Taos property sits in a historic district, as this requires special approvals. Measure your adobe walls carefully, since their thickness demands specific framing depths. Schedule exterior work for the summer to avoid spring winds and winter freezing. Finally, build extra time into your timeline, as sourcing custom materials in NM takes longer due to limited local suppliers.

Helpful?

Simple glass and mirror service in Taos takes two to five business days. Custom cuts or specialty materials sourced from other parts of NM add three to seven days to your timeline. Replacing double-pane windows takes one to three weeks, while larger custom installations require three to six weeks. If your home requires historic preservation approval, add an extra thirty to sixty days to your overall project schedule.

Helpful?

The success of glass and mirror service in Taos depends heavily on the local climate. High altitude means intense UV radiation, requiring UV-rated glazing. Extreme temperature swings and frequent freeze-thaw cycles stress seals and caulking. Additionally, adobe homes shift as they absorb moisture, making flexible sealants essential. High winds also carry sand that scratches exterior glass. Always use high-quality, climate-appropriate materials to ensure your installations last.
