"The service went very well. I called and asked if a plumber could come and change our expansion tank off of our hot water heater and was told that the plumber would be there between 1 and 3. About 15 minutes before 1, the plumber called and asked if he could come by. The service at the house went well and he used buckets and towels to make sure he didn't spill water everywhere. The water that did drip on our garage floor was cleaned up before he left. They accept credit cards and are very professional, I'd use them again! "
"We pay yearly but we have this is included with our rental property. They are pretty good on most things. We had a hot water heater replaced and they did an excellent job on that. They are very quick on their response. They dont come out here. It is all done on the internet. I just like the idea that one time service charge is so much better than trying to hiring someone to come in. It is more about convenience. It pays for itself."

Tankless water heaters heat water as it passes through the unit instead of storing heated water in the tank. Their ability to produce hot water on an as-needed basis makes them more efficient. However, they are generally more expensive than traditional units. Is a tankless water heater worth it? Most homeowners will save money with a tankless unit in the long run by using less energy.
The average cost to install a new water heater is approximately $1,300, with a typical price range between $880 and $1,800. The final cost depends on several factors, including the type and size of the unit, its location and accessibility, and the amount of labor required. For example, installing a unit in a tight space like a crawl space can increase labor costs. The type of water heater significantly impacts the price: while a conventional gas heater might cost less than $1,000, tankless models can cost around $2,600 to install (and up to $3,500), and solar heaters can cost upwards of $3,700. Other factors that can affect the total price include the fuel type, vent system requirements, permits, and whether any additional plumbing work or repairs from previous water heater damage are needed.
The good news is that most home warranty plans cover hot water heaters, regardless of whether you have a tank or a tankless model. Your hot water heater should be covered by your home warranty because it's considered an essential home appliance.
Replacing facilitates energy savings, decreases repair frequency, and aligns with modern safety regulations, maximizing safety.
You can and should vent the gas from your hot water heater to the outside of your home. Traditionally, these gases were vented back to other gas appliances, like stoves or furnaces, but many jurisdictions have outlawed this practice due to the risks it provides.
Most water heaters today use atmospheric venting that exhausts the gas out of the home through a pipe.
