"Everything is working to perfection and we even received a phone call from the owner to asks us how his employees had done since we have had two groups over Within the past three weeks. We told him the shower was also working better than it has in the past 30 years and the swamp cooler had no leaks at all. But we did have one concern and it was about the estimate for replacement only being good for 3 days. He said you go ahead keep it they will honor it.

Water Heaters questions, answered by experts

Going from a tank to a tankless water heater is one of the most effective ways to lower your utility bills. The switch also frees up more space and ensures a consistent hot water supply, as the water is heated on an as-needed basis. It costs between $5,400 and $7,400 to install a new tankless water heater. Most installation companies will also help dispose of your old water tank.

Storage, tankless, heat pumps, and solar water heaters each suit specific space constraints, usage needs, and efficiency preferences.

When replacing an old unit, you might want to switch from a gas water heater to an electric water heater or vice versa. To do this, you will likely need to add infrastructure to the area. For example, you likely don’t have a gas line that served your old electric water heater. You’d have to call a plumber to put in a new gas line. If you’re replacing a gas unit with an electric one, the plumber will need to safely cap the old gas line. You will then need an electrician to add wiring for the new electric unit.

Yes, a heat pump water heater can work in colder climates but it’s much more effective where it’s warm. The reason is that the heat pump needs ambient warmth in the air to compress. The less warmth, the more compression required, thus using more electricity and offsetting the energy-efficient benefits.

If you're replacing a broken water heater, now is a great time to make sure you're selecting a unit that has the right capacity for your household. According to the U.S. Department of Energy, a small 50-gallon to 60-gallon tank is sufficient for households with one to three people. A medium-sized 80-gallon tank is considered ideal for three to four people. A larger tank may be needed if your household has four to six people.
