"Project: Trim bushes and trees and removal of bushes I was fortunate to watch Byron remove a huge tree in the next door neighbors yard and was so impressed by how hard he and his helper worked. Asked if he would give a qoute on work I wanted to have done in my front yard. His qoute was very reasonable and he came right on time the following Monday 8 AM. He trimmed my tall shaped cypress and evergreen bushes, removed sage bushes , trimmed the other sage and did trimming on large Chamisa bushes that were throughout the property. He is very professional and so pleasant to work with . He cleaned and took the trimmings away. I will be recommending him to all my friends."

You can paint an old wooden fence, but make sure first to do a deep clean (ideally with a pressure washer) and inspect the fence for any existing damage. A cedar fence will actually last quite a long time even if you don’t treat it with stain. In fact, you can expect to get between 15 and 30 years out of an untreated cedar fence. However, if you want to preserve its color and extend its life, treat it with a combination stain and sealer every three to five years.

Pressure-treated wood lasts at least 10 years, but with the right care and treatment, it can last as long as 40 years. Painting the boards is one way to increase the lifespan of pressure-treated wood. The layer of paint provides extra protection for the wood against the exterior elements and insects.

If your cedar fence is new, don’t delay. Unlike treated pine, you don’t need to wait months for the wood to dry out for it to accept stain. With cedar, the sooner, the better. Seal cedar within two weeks of installation to prevent the sun from fading its red color.

Wood stain is not flammable after it dries. The solvent in wood stain is what causes the liquid form to be highly flammable, but the stain drying process involves the solvents dissolving, which leaves behind a non-flammable product on your wood project. Wood stain is, however, flammable before you apply it, so you should always store partially full cans and used wood stain rags away from sources of heat and open flames.
