It’s very rare to find mice in a bed frame or mattress outside of the most extreme infestation scenarios. That said, your bedroom isn’t off limits for mice if it offers them shelter, food, and warmth. Look for any gaps or openings a mouse could squeeze into, and don’t keep food in your bedroom.

While you may be hearing squirrels running around your attic at night, these animals are usually more active during the day. If you hear scratching sounds in your attic at night, it’s mostly likely a mouse, raccoon, or bat. Investigate your roof, attic, and other entrances to your home to find signs that indicate the presence of squirrels or other pests.

First, contact your local wildlife services department. Then, you should be able to remove the groundhog by making the environment uncomfortable for them using scent, sound, and light, or set a live trap with natural bait that allows you to relocate the groundhog at least 20 miles from your home.

You can take multiple approaches to keep animals out of your edible landscape. You can use natural repellents such as mint and cayenne pepper to deter them from your garden. You can also build a fence (or opt for a privet hedge) or keep the most enticing plants in a sectioned-off area. The most efficient method of keeping your four-legged guests at bay is to determine what animal it is and create a customized plan for them.
