"My dryer was not working correctly. They ran a camera and saw that the vent was clogged. We scheduled an appointment and they cleaned it out. Great customer service! Iâ ve had them clean my carpet previously and they did a fantastic job!"

"The technician did an excellent job. It did take a while to get the repair finished, but that was due to Bertazzoni delivering the parts. I have had multiple problems with this particular appliance. My range now works better than it did when new, but I have a feeling that even if I have continuing problems with it, American Home Shield will just repair rather than replace due to the cost of the range. By the way, I'm not exactly sure of the date of the repair."

"We needed someone to install tile around the bathtub at an apartment unit we own. Joey at 2 Daughters Handyman came to the rescue. He quoted us a fair price based on what we could see. However, once he started the work other complications were discovered such as mold behind the existing wall. Joey and his crew were able to take care of each issue and charged us a fair amount for the extra work performed. We were very impressed with his willingness to get the job done in a timely manner. He even went to two or three places on his own to find the tile we wanted. We will definitely use 2 Daughters again and would recommend them to anyone needing his services.

Mold Testing and Remediation questions, answered by experts

Neglecting mold growth on wood can result in various issues that deteriorate its appearance and jeopardize its structural stability. The mold's ability to multiply and expand can disintegrate the fibers of the wood, weakening it further. In addition, the allergenic spores and mycotoxins released by mold can pose health hazards through inhalation or contact. Ignoring the mold's presence allows it to thrive, increasing the likelihood of spreading to other surfaces and requiring extensive and expensive measures to control in the future. Addressing mold on wood promptly is crucial to preserving its condition and safeguarding the health of those around it.

Musty smells often indicate the presence of mold, which can lead to various health risks. Inhalation of mold spores may trigger allergic reactions, causing sneezing, a runny or stuffy nose, and itchy or watery eyes. People who suffer from mold allergies or asthma may experience more severe respiratory problems. Certain types of mold, like black mold, can lead to mycotoxicosis, a condition associated with serious health effects like respiratory problems, fatigue, headaches, and skin irritation if exposure continues for an extended period. Those with weakened immune systems, respiratory problems, or allergies may be more vulnerable to the health risks that come with musty smells. Therefore, it is crucial to address and eliminate the source of the odor promptly.

If you would like the insurance company to potentially help you pay for the mold remediation, you need to inform the insurer. When you notify your insurance company, they may say that you need a mold inspection before receiving any money for mold remediation. It’s possible that the insurer would not pay for this inspection unless they find mold.

Mold thrives in wet or moist conditions, so a fridge water dispenser can be the perfect place for them to live. You may transfer mold to the dispenser's nozzle by touching it with the rim of an unwashed water bottle or your hands.

If you see splotches that look like mold, you can clean them using vinegar. Distilled white vinegar is acidic enough to kill and remove most mold species.

Mold can begin to grow in as little as 12 to 24 hours, especially if the room is warm, so drying the area is the first thing you should do after water damage. Because mold and mildew can cause a range of health issues, make sure you clean up any water damage as soon as possible and run blower fans and dehumidifiers for 24 to 72 hours to dry out the room and reduce the risk of mold growth.
