"I expressed my concern to Kaley, the office scheduler, that I wanted an experienced licensed electrician to reinstall a ceiling fan that had issues. She sent Eric out with Kenny. Eric said the ceiling fan I had was defective and agreed to install a replacement. Kaley told me she would send Eric (who has 4 years experience) to install the fan but instead the very green Kenny showed up. After Kenny installed the fan you could not turn both the light and fan on at the wall. He had to call Eric and ask him how to wire it so that it would not do that. Eric told him how to fix the wiring; but the whole fan was wobbling and clicking when he was done. He admitted that something was wrong and he did not know what. He called Eric to figure it out while I called Kaley who did not answer and left a message. Kaley called back later and said she would send Eric out to fix the problem. Eric did come out but brought Kenny with him. Eric turned on the fan, looked at the obvious wobbling and clicking and said that nothing was wrong with the fan and that they all wobbled and made noise. I knew this was not true because I looked at the Lowes reviews about how smooth and quiet these fans were. Also, Kenny had admitted that something was wrong. I told Eric about the troubleshooting options for wobbling and noise. Eric was belligerent and refused to check anything. Such as a loose blade armor fan mounting not secure. I told Eric that the manufacturer said you could balance the fan blades by switching one fan blade with a blade from the opposite side. Eric said **That is not true** I said **So you are disagreeing with the manufacturer?** He did not say anything but told Kenny to switch the fan blades. He refused to check the blade arms, the fan mounting, the outlet box, or the mounting bracket to see if secure as recommended by the manufacturer. He said **I do not need to look, I know it is fine and Kenny installed some other fans like this with no problem**. Since Eric refused to do the job that Kenny admitted was not right; there was not much I could do about it other than say **Okay I will let it go** and then leave a review. I am now looking for a master electrician, working by himself, who is not trying to protect a green worker, to do this job. UPDATE: Kaley offered to send out an electrician who had more experience than Eric; and his name was Hector. Hector was immediately very polite, friendly, professional, and personable. He did everything he could to see what the problem was and fix it. He removed the ceiling fan and checked over everything. He was able to eliminate the noise by securing the base better. He lined up the chains correctly so that they were no longer difficult to pull and no longer making noise. He worked on balancing the fan blades and got them in better balance. I am overall happy with the experience and the end result. The reason I am not giving more stars is that I initially requested an electrician who was very experienced and skilled. I was told that Eric had 4 years experience and that he would be sent to me. However when the electrician showed up, it was not Eric, it was Kenny who was very green."

"Everything turned out fine. When it first arrived, it was damaged in the shipping. It took them quite a while to get something back to us, or even to call me back when I wrote to them. But then, once they got the ball rolling, it went very quickly. It took them probably about a month to even get back to me. The price was very good. Once somebody actually did speak with me, they were very responsive. They were pretty professional when I spoke to them. I just think that they were light on manpower."

"Kevin and Kerry gave us great advice about what colors would work to sell the house without losing too much character. We had very bright walls (orange and purple) that they covered with a lighter, neutral shade very well. The quality of the job was excellent. They were punctual, professional, and courteous. I really don't know how they painted all of that space so well in the time that they did it and with a flawless clean up."

Lighting questions, answered by experts

You can use outdoor electrical outlets to conveniently power landscaping equipment such as electrical lawnmowers, leaf blowers, and pressure washers. From a recreational standpoint, outdoor outlets are handy for powering electric grills, mini-fridges, and stereos. They're also helpful when it's time to string Christmas lights on your home and around your property.

Options include pathway lights, spotlights, and smart lighting systems. Choose based on function and aesthetics.

High-quality landscape lights that are hardwired and properly maintained can last for 10 to 25 years or more. You’ll usually get a longer lifespan from soffit lights and wall-mounted lights that aren’t directly exposed to the elements or prone to damage from foot traffic or vehicle traffic. Solar-powered and battery-powered lights often won’t last as long, but you can still expect a lifespan of five to 15 years.

Installing outdoor lighting can increase your home’s value by up to $2,500. The average ROI on landscape lighting is around 50%, but how much your home increases depends on the market, the type of lighting, and whether you have a strong strategy for your landscaping lighting project. LED and solar lighting may offer the highest ROIs.

Durations range from an hour for simple jobs to full workdays for significant upgrades.
