"I have used Maddox plumbing for 10 years. They have always been very reliable and courteous. However, when things do not go perfectly that is when you can tell the true quality of service. I recently had an evaporative cooler installed. The technician did not install a new roof jack and stand for the new cooler. "The technicians (Joe, CJ, and Larry) are all fantastic. The manager (Roger) comes across as pompous, condescending and belligerent. Roger threatened me with legal action after his company was the one who messed up twice. Once, when they failed to inform me of their payment collection policy and tried to tell me I was at fault; then again when they failed to immediately address an issue with a water line that they had supposedly fixed months ago. The manager spoke over me instead of listening to my concerns and tried to intimidate me with threats. I suspect he bullies his employees, as well. When he spoke of the technician whom he blames for failing to inform me of the payment policy his words were ?believe me he has what?s coming.? Furthermore, Roger tried to teach me how financial institutions function. I am a woman and do sound younger than my true age over the phone but it was not until I shared my age and profession with Roger that he changed his condescending tone. "

Knowing the signs can alert you to a clogged drain line. Clogs cause slow drainage or cause no drainage (if there’s a complete blockage). You may also notice foul odors, gurgling noises, water backing up in other appliances on the same line, or a poorly flushing toilet. If you experience any of these issues and think your line might be clogged, call a plumber.

If your drain doesn’t have metal crosshairs or crossbars, you should use a tub drain extractor. These tools create a grip on the drain so you can turn it using a 1/2-inch ratchet drive, drain key, or wrench. Your drain may not have crosshairs if it's old and broken.

Thankfully, it’s pretty rare to find a rat in your toilet. It’s more likely in larger cities with big sewer systems that can be feeding grounds for rats, but even then, you still shouldn’t fret. 

“I wouldn’t worry too much about rats coming up through the sewers,” Bradshaw says. “I’d say only one out of a thousand rodent customers we get actually have this problem. And of the 20 or some customers that have had this happen, they’ve all only had just one rat come up this way.”

Bleach isn’t likely to help unclog a sewer line. Bleach isn’t useful in this situation because it won’t dissolve the grime and debris in the clog. Instead, you want to use ingredients that will have a chemical reaction to clear out the buildup, like vinegar or salt and baking soda.
