"The initial estimate was very reasonable. Nick showed up, on time, and got right to work relocating several ceiling fans, installing new light fixtures, rewiring outlets, and adding a new outlet. In the end, we were billed less than the original estimate because Nick determined there was a less expensive way to perform some of these services and did not charge us the extra costs. We will definitely be calling Kingdom Electric for any future services we need."

"We have used spotlight twice now! Very impressed! LouAnn is the owner..... she is helpful, informative and communicative. We had a ceiling fan installed in our attic. The contractor who came out to do the work was great! I would highly recommend."

"I checked Angie's List for A-rated electricians in my area.
Called Chuck at CB's Electric LLC.
He answered in person. I described what needed to be. Chuck asked that I email him the pictures and wording from the home inspection report (selling my house).
He removed three surge arrestors from the two Main Disconnects in the basement as these were 'double tapped' which is no longer code). Having whole home surge arrestors is not a code requirement.
Chuck also removed 3 Non- IC recessed lights from the second floor (ceiling) and install 3 IC rated recessed lights in place of the three I removed with new IC rated trims.
Chuck did excellent work. He was very professional. Cleaned up the work area.
I will use him again and highly recommend CB's Electric if you need electrical work done.

Ceiling Fans questions, answered by experts

To convert a ceiling fan to wireless, you’ll need to install a canopy module to access the lighting and fan controls. Many options are available, all of which help you control specific elements of your ceiling fan, so you have plenty of choices depending on your needs.

If the fan doesn’t have a switch, connect the white wire from the ceiling to the white wire from the fan; connect the green wire to the ground wire; connect both black wires; and connect both blue wires. If yours has a switch, the white and green wires are connected the same way. However, connect the ceiling’s red wire to the light’s black wire and the ceiling’s black wire to the fan’s black wire.

Since the cost of installing a ceiling fan is $250 for most homeowners, it might be beneficial to replace your existing fan if you are experiencing a significant repair issue, like a broken motor. However, for less expensive repairs, like a fan blade replacement, you’ll likely spend less on the repair than a complete fan replacement. Of course, if you’re looking for an upgrade or a new style fan, replacing it altogether is always an option.

Keeping dust off fans can keep them working optimally and help keep dust mites or bacteria from building up. Dust fans weekly with a duster, microfiber cloth, old pillowcase, or vacuum attachment. You can also try spraying a clean fan with a store-bought dust-repellent product or making a DIY dust-repellent with water and a small amount of liquid fabric softener mixed in.

There’s no reason why you can’t install a ceiling fan anywhere in your home, such as in living rooms, offices, bedrooms, and dining areas. Most bathrooms already have ventilation and don’t need a ceiling fan. For safety purposes, avoid installing a ceiling fan where the blades will be less than eight feet from the floor, near bunk beds, or anywhere else they may hit nearby objects.
