"I obtained 3 quotes for painting in my house which included removing old wallpaper in one room before painting and included included a bedroom, bath and hallway. Affordable Weaver is truly affordable. Their cost estimate was 40% less than the other 2 quotes. The team of 4 arrived promptly at 7:30 am and finished the job in 1 day. Very neat and clean with no paint drippings on my wood baseboards or floor. The owners are a pleasure to deal with and the painting crew took time to understand what color paint I needed in each room. Highly recommend!"

"I have used Larry for a previous skim coating job and it worked out great.  Recently, the plaster ceiling in my master bath collapsed.  I removed all of the old ceiling and had it prepped with spray foam insulation.  I called Larry to install new dry wall to replace the fallen plaster ceiling.  He was quick to come out and survey the job.  He quickly provided a quote that was very fair.  Since I had used him before, I did not seek any other quotes.  To avoid dealing with possible issues with he bathroom walls, he suggested dropping the ceiling height a bit lower.  This went very smoothly.  It required three trips.  The first was the bulk of the work and resulted in the the actual hanging of the drywall.  It was both glued and screwed into place.  He provided a written guarantee against the problem re-occurring.  The two additional trips were short visits to touch up and and lightly sand the taped joints.  He was here about 30 minutes on each of these visits and they were scheduled right after the major part of the job was completed.  He is a great guy to work with and easy going.  He takes pride in his work and will go the extra mile to make you happy."

"The work they did was absolutely beautiful!  It looked professionally done with flawlessly  smooth walls and perfect edges.  We left them a key and they let themselves in and out each day.  At the end of each day, the house was clean and there was no worries about our toddler knocking something over.
One room had been wallpapered and we removed the wallpaper ourselves.  They washed, spackled (lots of spackle) and sealed the room before priming and painting it.  They also caulked the trim which had pulled from the walls.  The room looked perfect and there was no sign of the added destruction we did with the paper removal.
The second room was a dining room that was painted deep red.  We wanted it painted a light blue.  There were accents that were already in place which we wanted to be left the way they were.  The had to paint around columns and other parts.  When they were finished, the the blue was vibrant and the lines were perfect.
The final room was the bathroom where the drywall tape had started to pull away.  They fixed it and need to match the existing paint. Everything matched perfectly, and you could't tell any work ever needed to be done.
When the work was done, the paint had been labeled and left so we could use it if we needed it in the future. At first I though the price was a little high, but when we met at the end (two days later) he let us know all the extra work he did, I thought it was a steal. Even though extra work was done so the final product was perfect, he didn't charge us extra over the estimate.
Tim was a pleasure to work with.  His estimate was accurate and he really knew his stuff.  I highly recommend Prep Prime and Paint if you want something done the right way, the first time.

Wallpapering questions, answered by experts

Yes, many types of peel-and-stick wallpaper can be used in bathrooms, especially those made of vinyl or polyester. However, its success depends heavily on the level of moisture and ventilation. In bathrooms with good ventilation, such as those with fans, it can be a durable option. Peel-and-stick wallpaper may not adhere as well as traditional wallpaper in very humid conditions. For bathrooms that see a lot of moisture, like a kids' bathroom or a full bath with a steamy shower and poor ventilation, even high-quality peel-and-stick wallpaper is likely to peel over time.

Hanging wallpaper may seem simple, but in practice it requires significant planning and finesse to make it look professional. To start, you need to get an even application of wallpaper paste across all of your wallpaper, which requires experience and large pasting tables to get right. You also need to plan out your design and match it exactly so that you don’t have imperfections in the finished product. It’s often better to hire a professional wallpaper hanger who can get the job done properly for a clean, smooth finish.

While peel-and-stick wallpapers require no time to cure, the adhesives for other types of papers will take a day or two to dry and up to three weeks to fully cure. The differences are the type of paper, the type of adhesive, and the humidity and temperature in the space.

No, you don’t always have to remove old wallpaper before applying a new layer. However, you should pull off the existing wallpaper if it’s cracked, peeling, or in poor condition. We’d also recommend against putting wallpaper over textured or dark-colored wallpaper because the old layer may be visible through the new one. In addition, if you try to hang new wallpaper over vinyl-coated wallpaper, the adhesive might not stick properly.

Painting over wallpaper is an efficient way to cover it if it’s in decent shape. Before painting over wallpaper, make sure the surface is clean and smooth. You may have to remove minor problem areas, such as lifted seams or small peels, with a sheetrock knife or putty knife. Add a latex- or oil-based primer to keep moisture at bay before painting. You’ll likely need two coats of paint to cover the area.
