"Sandro and his team did excellent work, professional and great customer service. He wanted us to be more than satisfied with the work. I was very happy with the results. I thought my deck was beyond repair with the dirt and mold but with a thorough cleaning, light resurfacing and stain of my choice it is as good new."

"This is the 2nd time I've used Freeborne and I would definitely have them back again. They built a 12' X 16' enclosed room on a 2nd story deck and it came out great. Lenny, Scott and crew knew what we wanted and exceeded our expectations without over complicating the project. There were no budget surprises either. The amount we discussed at the beginning was what we were charged. If I could I would use them to do projects inside of the house!"

"From start to finish, working with Juan and his team was excellent. We knew that we wanted to turn the enclosed porch into a mud room, but weren't sure exactly how to go about it. We got three proposals for the job, and were most comfortable with Juan's. He was direct, professional, and covered everything that needed to be done. Long story short, we couldn't be happier with the result.
We were lucky that they were able to fit us into their schedule quickly. The workers were punctual, professional, and obviously took pride in their work. The job took about 5 days; it would have been 4, but they went above and beyond to make sure that the result was excellent. For example, on the second day Juan approached me and asked if they could paint the ceiling and replace the light fixture, at no additional cost; they just wanted the finished room to look the best possible. There was also a tree that we had been planning on getting rid of, near the base of where the stairs were supposed to end. Juan removed the tree and didn't charge us for it. Additionally, the workers spent a good deal of time making sure that the old interior door closed properly, taking it off its hinges, sanding it down, and rehanging it. We didn't ask for that; they just took pride in their work and had an eye for detail. We were extremely grateful for this.
Unlike so many contractors, there was no nickel and diming. The job went smoothly, the result is beautiful, and it cost exactly what were were told at the outset. They didn't cut corners, did a great job cleaning up, and the work itself was fantastic. The room turned out so much better than we could have imagined.
Bottom line, Statewide Home Improvement did amazing work and we will definitely be working with them again for our next project. We've been raving about them to our friends and neighbors.

"Power spray of house was great.  Pool deck had puddles because it doesn't drain well.  Planning to have contractor come out and seal pool deck with epoxy cement paint so puddles (with some dirt) will be removed before paint.  Contractor was courteous and helpful when more attention to some areas was requested.

Deck Maintenance questions, answered by experts

If you have wood decking, there are several common deck problems that you might encounter. For example, your natural wood boards may fade over time due to things like sunlight, weather, and debris. On top of that, some types of wood decking can rot, grow mold, and attract destructive pests—including termites, carpenter ants, and woodpeckers.

Yes. Freestanding or floating decks are exactly what the name implies—structures with their own support beams. You can build a deck yourself and place it next to a house for the illusion of a connected deck without the hassle. Or you can construct it in a separate part of your yard for a dedicated outdoor entertainment space. For the purpose of removing a freestanding deck, the steps are the same as an attached deck, but you don’t have to cut the deck away from the home.

Yes, snow should be removed from a deck to protect it from damage caused by moisture and heavy loads. Shovel the snow off of your deck regularly once it is more than four inches deep. Avoid using salt, which can damage your deck.

Yes, deck pier blocks can be used as an alternative to traditional deck footings, especially for smaller or low-to-the-ground decks. Unlike poured concrete and buried post footings, deck blocks do not require digging or pouring. However, their use is dependent on local building codes. Some areas, particularly those prone to high winds, earthquakes, or hurricanes, may not permit the use of deck pier blocks. It is essential to consult your local building codes before choosing them for your deck project.

Liquid rubber is great for waterproofing, but it can damage your deck if it’s not applied correctly. First, it can trap moisture in the wood if the deck isn’t completely dry before application.  Second, applying it too thickly can create a heavy, rubbery surface layer that peels and cracks under fluctuating temperatures. For the best results, ensure the wood is completely dry before application, and apply the liquid rubber in thin, even coats. A quick inspection every now and then will help you catch any issues early, keeping your deck protected and looking its best.
