"I can't say enough good things about Mo, his immediate response, professional approach, respectful of the home, his kind and understanding approach was perfect for the stressful situation. We just recovered from the flooding back in July. Clean up just about done and then on 8/26/25 came down to the basement finding the sink overflowing from the washing machine rinse cycle. Called Mo. he was here in an hour. Figured out the issue and snaked the drain out to the road. Cleared the clog, all was working great. I highly recommend Mo, and his work to anyone needing his services.!"

"Abraham did an excellent job of getting clogged bathroom sink and a shower stall working again. He additionally changed some old pipes in the basement. I particularly appreciate the fact that he took his time to tidy up after self and didn’t leave us with a mess. I would hire him again."

"Love these guys! I called around 9 this morning and spoke with Elpidio. After texting a photo of our kitchen drain problem to him he was able to send me a quote, a contract and put me on the schedule for 3pm same day! As soon as I paid the deposit online we were set. Two of his colleagues actually came early (they called first) and finished within an hour. Clean and efficient and great price. We found our new go-to plumbers!"

Drain Cleaning questions, answered by experts

While technically possible, it is unlikely that a clogged toilet will fix itself. Clogs caused by water-soluble materials like toilet paper or human waste may eventually break down in the water, allowing flow to resume. However, this can take time, and any clogs from solid objects require manual removal. In most scenarios, especially if you don't have another bathroom, it is best to fix the clog yourself or call a plumber.

Main sewer lines can clog for several reasons. For example, if you regularly dump oil or grease down your drain, it could eventually block your line. Sometimes, tree roots can penetrate and grow inside old sewer pipes, creating a major blockage. Flushing bulky items (like paper towels, diapers, or baby wipes) can also clog your plumbing system.

In some cases, operating a snake can damage your drain and pipes. This depends on the overall condition of your pipes and how gently you operate the auger. For instance, older galvanized pipes covered in zinc are susceptible to scratches when using a drain snake. Additionally, it’s common for newbies to apply too much force when extending the snake, leading to scratches and related damage. You can also crack the porcelain with an electric auger if you’re snaking a toilet drain. If you’re using a manual snake or auger, the risk is minimal.

Your clothes—and your washing machine—will send you a few signals if you’re overdue for cleaning your washing machine filter. If you notice a buildup of detergent residue on your clothes, your clothes don’t dry quickly or at all, or you’re noticing lint in the machine, it’s time to clean the filter.

Keep your egress window from flooding by ensuring that the drainage system in the window well is clear and in good working condition. Inspect the window well every few months to remove any blockages and test the drainage system. It’s better to discover potential problems before your window well fills with water during heavy rain.
