"I've used AHR twice now, once for a basement remodel and more recently for repairs to my house after a vehicle crashed into it. Nick Fiore and the AHR team were great both times and the price was reasonable."

"They performed quality work at a fair price, maintaining good timeliness and communication throughout the process. The installers were professional, ensuring my house remained clean. I'm satisfied with the insulation they installed in both my crawl space (encapsulation) and attic closet."

"Mike was very good at explaining the products he had to offer and going over the installation process. The head installer Joe and his assistant Israel were both top notch. They were polite, neat and most importantly to me, very professional. They introduced themselves and then got right to work. At the end of the job, Joe and I looked over the work together and then he refreshed my memory on the operation of the windows (tilting, screen removal). I was very pleased with the quality of their work and the product itself. I would definitely recommend Acorn Home Improvements."

"UE did a great job when it comes to all levels. Professionalism, Work, Communication etc. They installed a new roof on my house, the contractor gave me a book and I was in sort of a rush so he told me to keep the book, look at what color shingles I want and to give him a call the following day. Pricing was great and affordable especially when it came to other contractors, they offered more things also. They cleaned up all the garbage and mess they made around my house too! Thank you UE for this amazing experience."

Eifs Installers questions, answered by experts

Costs depend on window size, type, material, and labor. Custom shapes or sizes typically incur higher expenses; full installation includes removing old windows.

The cost to install a bow window can range from $1,500 to $15,000, with a national average of $3,900. The total price includes materials, which can cost between $1,200 and over $14,000, and labor, which typically adds $300 to $1,900. Several factors influence the final cost, including the window's size and frame material. For example, vinyl frames are the most budget-friendly option, while wood frames are more expensive. Custom features or energy-efficient upgrades will also increase the price. For comparison, a bay window installation typically costs between $1,000 and $7,000.

Yes, you can install a bay window in an existing house. You’ll need to have a structural engineer draw up plans to add the necessary support to your exterior load-bearing walls and a general contractor to make the changes to the framing around the new wall opening. This will cost an average of $3,000. After that work is done, a window installer can set the new bay window in place.

Installing a window well costs anywhere from $500 to $1,500 or more. Adding an egress window and well runs about $3,900 on average. Adding a window well cover to the project can add $200 to $700. A well cover helps protect your egress windows from weather damage and keeps them clear of dirt, debris, and wildlife.

Egress windows are typically required for basements with habitable space or living quarters. Not all basements or lower levels require egress windows. However, egress windows are required in homes with living spaces such as bedrooms and living rooms in a basement. The International Residential Code and International Building Code require sleeping rooms to have a specific size egress window. Check your local building codes to confirm the requirements in your area.
