"We use Laury for repair and maintenance of our heating and cooling units for our rental properties and each time we need something done, the staff at Laury never cease to provide quality service. The technicians are always knowledgeable, thorough, courteous and pleasant. We recently had an HVAC system installed in one of our units and the home is rather large and is over 100 years old and there was not a whole lot of empty space to work with. The guys at Laury were able to install the system and all of the duct work and components involved neatly with the age and make-up of the home in-mind. They were pleasant throughout the entire installation which took almost a week. They were always on time and always communicated the process with us. Laury is a trusted business with many years of experience behind them. Prices are also extremely reasonable given the cost of services right now. Warren you are the man!"

"I had a bathtub that needed all kinds of fixing - bad water pressure, fixtures were coming loose from the wall, nozzles were leaking. It was so damaged I thought It'd need replacing all together. I had a leaking sink (more like spitting sink) and a broken bath tub nozzle in my condo. It needed repairing badly as both were rendered useless. Majewski Plumbing crew came and gave me options of how to repair everything that was leaking and broken without spending thousands of dollars on a full remodel. His team pulled together for me which parts to buy based on my set up, and gave me a good / best option to pull from, explaining that the moneen faucets were best. They ordered the sink and installed it that week (which if you live in Wildwood, you know reliable and timely help is almost impossible to find, especially in winter). It was affordable and he even fixed the water pressure to have more umph during my showers. Couldn't be happier. All I can say, is I had called two other plumbers that day after I called Frank. Neither one even got back to me. Wildwood is awful with that. Frank's team happens to be the exception - prompt service is a necessity for me as I'm too busy to be waiting forever. Would definitely recommend."

Customers say: Quick response

"After buying a new refrigerator, Home Depot told me I needed a plumber to run a new water line to the refrigerator. I was not happy with the Home Depot tech that called me. The plumber, Dave, arrived soon after I called Harris and did a phenomenal job! He was friendly, professional and worked quickly. Thank you, Dave, and Harris Plumbing!!"

Sump Pump Installation questions, answered by experts

There are several things you can do to maintain your sump pump and prevent sump pump problems. For instance, keeping a lid on your sump pit goes a long way in protecting your pump system from silt, sand, dirt, and other debris. When water drains from the outside, such as along your foundation, or with melting snow, water runoff often brings sediment with it.

Also be wary of corrosion, particularly if your sump pump system is made of metal. Keep an eye out for rust and have it inspected regularly by a plumber or sump pump technician.

If you’re wondering if your home even needs a sump pump, consider whether you’ve struggled with flooding issues in the past. If your house is in a flood-prone area, your yard has poor drainage, or you’ve dealt with any other water problems, then it’s likely well worth it to replace your old sump pump with a new one.

A sump pump should be placed at least three feet deep in a pit. The rim of the sump pump basin should be level with your basement floor. If you find your pit is too deep, you can fill the bottom with gravel until the rim of the sump pump is flush with the floor.

A sewage ejector pump is necessary if you have any plumbing fixtures, such as a bathroom, laundry room, or sink, located below the level of your home's main sewer line. Standard plumbing relies on gravity to move wastewater and solid waste to the municipal sewer or septic tank. However, for fixtures located below grade (e.g., in a basement), gravity is not sufficient.

The purpose of a sewage ejector pump is to actively pump this wastewater and solid waste upward into the main sewer line. Without an ejector pump in this situation, wastewater would have no way to exit and would eventually back up, causing a sewage overflow or flooding in your basement. If all of your home's plumbing is on the main floor or higher, gravity can handle the drainage, and an ejector pump is not needed.

Yes, it’s normal (and beneficial) to have a small amount of water in the bottom of your sump pit. It shows that your system is collecting groundwater, rain, and excess water from around your property—just like it’s supposed to. However, if the sump pit is always full, you might have a leak or a faulty sump pump.
