"New driveway is perfect. Excellent fast and efficient work by Hector and his crew. Their detailing of the finished surface is beautiful. They went above and beyond by digging out and filling in a gap in my adjoining old driveway. The excavation process was well done and they left the site clean. It’s now 5 months old and again, just perfect. Highly highly recommended."

"They did an amazing job. They started right when they said they would, were extremely professional and quick. I love the way the driveway and walkways look and would hire them again in a minute. Great job!"

"Arrived on time. Work was done as neatly as possible given the need to power wash the driveway. Pavers were leveled better than I expected. Result is a very significant improvement over previous appearance and a real plus to the appearance of the house."

"Bowen construction installed a deck, added an energy star sliding door, moved vents, performed plumbing repairs so my kitchen pipes would not freeze, added light and outlets and moved my interior dining table light. All work was excellent quality and his quote was 1/3 the cost of any other contractor. When I need more work I will be utilizing his services. Highly responsive to any text or call. I am so happy with my deck!! And he beat out the next closest contractor by over 10k."

"The craftsmanship is incredible. The pattern is cobblestone and visitors believe it is real stone. There were a couple minor issues, including 4 feet wide instead of 3 in one area and a delay in getting our stairs attached. The crew is fantastic and very professional."

"The patio turned out very nice. We are currently planning on using them here again soon. We were very pleased with the work they did. I would recommend their services. They did what was on the contract, and followed up with us. They finished the job on a timely basis, and the kept to the price. They were not the cheapest, but they were the best overall."

"Big improvement over the driveway we started with. Alex and his team delivered the driveway we needed. He worked with us creating the design that worked both functionaly and asteticaly. Totaly changes the look of my house. The quality of the finished product is above what I imagined. They also helped us with transplanting our 14 year old fig tree. The last picture is the before shot."

Asphalt Driveways questions, answered by experts

At a depth of two inches, a ton of asphalt covers around 80 to 100 square feet. However, the thicker the asphalt, the less surface area it will cover. That’s why measuring correctly is essential when estimating asphalt needs and costs to ensure you get enough material to cover your entire driveway, patio, or other asphalt surface.

Asphalt is made of aggregate materials (sand, rocks, and gravel) and bitumen, a viscous, petroleum-based, waterproof substance. These materials are mixed together at extremely high temperatures to form asphalt.

An asphalt driveway should be at least 3 inches thick over a compacted gravel base. Areas with poor drainage should have a thicker stone base. To install a new asphalt driveway over an existing driveway, the new asphalt should be at least 2 inches thick and the existing driveway should be in relatively good condition.

To ensure you hire a reliable and experienced paving company, you should start by finding companies in your area that have at least five to ten years of experience working in your neighborhood. Next, rule out companies with poor reviews online or a series of complaints filed with the Better Business Bureau. Since driveways affect your curb appeal, you should also ask each company for references and pictures of recent work to make sure the work the company does is professional and high quality. Finally, check that the company is licensed and insured.

Yes, using recycled asphalt millings is an eco-friendly alternative compared to concrete. Millings are reclaimed pieces of gravel that are recycled into aggregate that can be used on driveways, patios, walkways, basketball courts, tennis courts, and more.
