"Second time using B-Tec electric and I think now they are my go to electrician. I used them previously to upgrade my panel to 200 Amp and this time to hook up my new electric water heater. Both tasks were completed perfectly and fairly priced. I highly recommend B-Tec electric!"

Small jobs welcome

"My experience with Apollo Electric was wonderful. I needed some normal electrical work done, and also some detailed more involved work. He handled everything with care as if it was his own home. He was very detailed oriented, neat, clean and very honest. Mike worked hard during the entirety of the job, I was very pleased and I would call him for any job I need involving electrical work for the future"

Electrical questions, answered by experts

Installing a circuit breaker is best handled by a local professional electrician. This project requires following strict electrical codes, and might even involve permits. Not only can electrical work be dangerous, but without the proper training that a pro will have, you could cause further damage to your home’s electrical system.

Track lighting typically needs to be hardwired, connecting directly to the electrical wiring in your ceiling for a permanent and reliable power source. Hardwiring provides a clean and professional look with no visible cords. However, plug-in track lighting options can be connected to a standard electrical outlet, offering easier installation and flexibility. The choice between hardwired and plug-in track lighting depends on your needs, preferences, and existing electrical setup.

A 10,000-watt generator can run a small to mid-sized central AC unit (typically up to 3 tons or 36,000 BTU) along with a few other appliances. However, larger AC units or additional loads will require a bigger generator. Consult a local generator installer to ensure you add the correct size generator to your home.

If one plug in your outlet works but the other doesn't, it could be due to a few reasons. The outlet might have a loose or damaged internal connection on the non-working side. Another possibility is that the outlet is a split receptacle, with one half controlled by a wall switch that might be turned off. Additionally, debris or damage inside the non-working plug could prevent a proper connection. If you can't identify the issue, remember to prioritize safety. Replace the outlet or consult a professional electrician to ensure safety and proper functionality.

A duplex outlet simply means that the receptacle has two plug-in outlets for two plugs. It’s a common design choice for homes. The two outlets should be wired identically during installation so the hot side is the same for both.
