"Second time using B-Tec electric and I think now they are my go to electrician. I used them previously to upgrade my panel to 200 Amp and this time to hook up my new electric water heater. Both tasks were completed perfectly and fairly priced. I highly recommend B-Tec electric!"

Smart glass doesn’t use a lot of electricity, and you can expect a standard window to add between $1 and $2 per year to your electric bills. Smart glass is proof that energy-efficient windows work. Although your smart windows may consume a little energy to operate, they can save enough energy to offset the costs. Yes. You can connect your home back-up battery to a generator with its designated charger. Be sure that the output of the generator matches the input requirements for the battery for best results.

Overall, heating your home with an oil furnace tends to be less expensive than heating your home with an electric heating system. Oil heating systems stay warm for longer periods of time without drawing a constant electrical current to maintain a temperature. Plus, heating oil systems typically have a longer lifespan and lower price tag than their electrical counterparts, resulting in short- and long-term savings.

Yes, a light switch still has power even when switched off. Switches only interrupt or continue the flow of electricity into a fixture or outlet; they do not shut off the power flowing into the wire. The only way to shut off power in a light switch is to turn off the power at the circuit breaker.

The hot wire is typically black, but it's essential to use a non-contact voltage tester to confirm the electrical wire color code before working on it. Neutral wires are typically white. It’s vital to determine which wire is carrying electrical current before proceeding with any electrical work.
