"I recently hired Sunlight Contracting to refresh the interior of my home, and I couldn’t be more pleased with the results! From start to finish, the experience was seamless and professional. John & Lou were punctual, courteous, and respectful of my space, ensuring everything was covered and protected before they began. The quality of the paintwork is outstanding—each wall, ceiling, and trim was finished with clean lines and smooth, even coverage. I was impressed with how efficiently they worked, completing the job quickly, and they left the place spotless afterward! I’m thrilled with how bright and inviting my rooms look now. I highly recommend Sunlight Contracting for anyone in need of top-quality interior painting services. I would definitely be call them again for future projects!"

Small jobs welcome

"My garage doors woodwork had peeling paint and needed a refresh. Jorge devised a solution that minimized the rework and avoided the need for future repainting. The final result was excellent and the garages now look like new. The work was performed efficiently and the site cleaned up before they left. Based on this, I have asked Jorge for estimates for two other jobs I have that require rework."

"My first time hiring a contractor fro HA site. I needed to replace the basement bar counter top and finish the facade. Had wonderful experience with Danny. Very professional, attention to quality was a huge plus. Always showed on time and left the place clean. Final product finish excellent. Ready for some party now! I had to remind Danny to collect final payment - which is generally not the case. Definitely recommend."

Deck Cleaning questions, answered by experts

You can add a roof to most decks, but you need to have it inspected first. If your deck didn’t come with a roof initially, it may not be able to handle the weight without some structural changes. You can add additional supports to your existing deck to safely add a roof, and tying your deck’s roof to an exterior wall can help add some structural stability, but remember these aren’t DIY projects and need to be left to a pro.

Yes, you can attach a deck to a mobile home, but it’s important that the work be done correctly to avoid the potential for major damage to your home. Many building codes require that any additions to mobile homes—including decks—be either freestanding or have their own support structures. Getting permits may require submitting the home's original floor plan, the proposed floor plan, framing details, and more.

Composite decking might cost more upfront, but it delivers value in terms of durability. Unlike wood, composite material resists common deck problems such as rotting, fading, warping, and all the other things you don’t want a deck to do. The extra processes lead to a higher price tag, but you’ll save big in maintenance costs down the road.

Materials for a second-story deck must be weather- and rot-resistant, though the specific choices will largely be determined by your budget and style preference. Pressure-treated wood is on the lower end of the price scale, but it can be customized and stained the way you like it. Composite, on the other hand, is pricier for installation and has fewer options for customization, but you’ll save money and time in the long run because it requires little maintenance.

While experienced DIYers may take on the challenge, hiring a licensed professional is often the best route, especially for larger or elevated structures. A local deck contractor is typically the best pro for the job, as they have specialized experience and are knowledgeable about local building codes, ensuring your deck is built safely and designed to last. Other professionals who can build a deck include general contractors and carpenters, who may be more readily available in some regions.
