"This is a review of the *experience* we had with Quality. We had the basement waterproofed, so we won't really know how good the job is until a big rainstorm! So this is just the experience we had before and during the job. We reached out to Quality based on the Angie's List reviews, and were convinced by the visit from Greg. He was so knowledgeable about the water problems, and pointed out the years of experience the company has. Also, we weren't looking for a bargain, we were looking for a dry basement, and Greg was very straightforward about all the costs. Now we haven't had a rainstorm yet, so we still don't know the most important thing about the job! But Victor and his crew were fantastic. They knew what they were supposed to do when they got here, and did the whole job-- as quietly as possible-- in less than 4 hours. They were pleasant to have in the house. They left the place clean. So big thanks to all at Quality. P S: Will update when there's a big rainstorm."

"Essex & Morris did a fantastic job.  I waited until now to post a review because I wanted to see how the new driveway held up over the winter.  I was a bit concerned given the timing of the work (mid November) but John assured me that it would not be a problem and he was correct.  The scope of the work was to rip out the existing crumbling driveway, replace it, add Belgium blocks along the side and to replace part of the adjacent sidewalk that was also in bad shape.  Communication was prompt, the service was expertly done and I have nothing but good things to say.  You may find another contractor that will offer a lower a quote but I am willing to pay more for quality and I am happy to have done so."

We made a dozen calls with no answers and no call backs trying to get a professional estimate that detialed the damage and the repairs needed to repair our storm damaged foundation. When we called Fooundation experts not only was Nick professional enough to answer the phone, he was also decent enough to fit us in when I told him we were strugleiing. They met us at our hoome promplty at 7:00 AM on Saturday and had the paperwork back to us in a few days as promised.

"The crew was good.  The quality of the work is good.  I would recommend them for any concrete work whether old or new or repairs from them.   They did a great job coming up with a good plan to repair my concrete deck around my pool.  Don't hesitate to use them.

"Roca Construction called me back in 20 minutes and showed  up at my house in less than an hour. We talked about all the problems/projects I had in mind. He gave me ideas and listened my ideas.  We decided to break the job to 2 different  jobs and do the steps and all the cement work first. Roca and his work men showed up at my house next morning around 8 am and started working. All the  workmen are  nice, polite, hard working and easy going. They returned every morning around the same time including Saturday and Sunday to get everything done. Roca has good ideas to solve problems and surprises that come about when you fix nearly 100 year old house he also has an excellent eye for detail. He has knowledge in many areas of building and fixing which is very handy. All the work turned out super and new brick steps look great and they match well with the existing stone front wall. I will be using Roca and his work crew again."

Concrete Mudjacking questions, answered by experts

Address drainage issues, avoid heavy loads, and seal cracks to prevent future settling.

It’s best not to perform mudjacking in the winter unless the ground temperature remains above freezing. Freezing temperatures can cause the slurry to harden too quickly, compromising its strength and longevity. Concrete is also more susceptible to cracking and splitting in cold temperatures, so there’s a higher risk of damaging the slab during the drilling and lifting process in winter.

A good slump height really depends on the project, but there is a use for nearly all slump levels. For example, low slumps are best in projects that require structure, such as curbs and roads. High slumps often require additional reinforcement, but they flow more freely into hard-to-reach spaces.

Yes, expanding foam (also known as polyurethane foam) can lift concrete. This approach, called polyjacking, involves injecting the foam rather than concrete slurry to fill voids and raise the concrete slab back into place. It’s often faster and requires smaller drill holes than traditional mudjacking, though it may come at a higher cost. Some contractors also prefer polyjacking over mudjacking for more damaged and delicate slabs.

A slurry of cement, sand, and water is injected beneath the concrete to lift and stabilize it.
