"Master Attic removed my old and rodent infested insulation, thoroughly cleaned out all the junk in my attic, vacuumed all the dirt, debris, and rodent feces, sealed all air leaks, installed rodent-proof cages around any entry points to the attic, sanitized the entire attic space and installed new insulation throughout. Francisco and his crew were fantastic! Great job by Master Attic! Thank you!"
"Armor Insulation and More was timely, courteous, and efficient throughout the entire process. The owner went out of his way to make sure that I understood exactly the services I was to be receiving, and his team was nothing but respectful and left the house as clean as it was when they arrived. I would feel more than comfortable recommending them to family and friends."
"It went well. Was $1,750 for taking out the insulation and putting the blown-in cellulose insulation in. They were quick and it only took them about 2 hours. The workers didn't know that the present insulation was to be taken out. It wasn't on the contract, but the salesperson should have communicated that to the workers. Once I explained that that is what the salesperson said would happen, they were OK with doing it. The company owner did not show up on the day of the project. Other than those 2 things, I think they did a good job."
"We had been living in our house for 5 years and although the kitchen was a new addition, every winter my wife & I had noticed how noticeably the temperature differentiated especially after the winter of 2014/15. And because it was a dirt floor with some wood and old construction debris strewn about. I was not so keen on staying down there. In doing my own investigation there was some piping and insulation under floor. So when investigating estimates we called a number of "green" companies. Out of the three companies that came, only Frank Petrullo with Eco Green Solutions, noticed the mold and a water leak coming from fridge line. He took the time to show me where the water was coming, how mold had proliferated on the wood floor joists and beams. The dirt floor was somewhat moist and light was visible from outside along foundation rim contributing to the mold and moisture in crawl space. He explained each of our options and detailed the steps in sections of each estimate. We opted to have a plumber fix the water leak, then franks crew came in, cleaned up the mold, then layed down the crawl space membrane, finally insulating floor & rim joist. All in under two days. The crew showed up on time, left the open sections of the house clean, and we immediately noticed a difference in kitchen and rest of house. Walking around bare foot in kitchen is more comfortable, the kitchen is less noisy, and house humidity is maintained. "
"Joe did a great job on this, our dining room was a add on to connect the original home and the garage and had no insulation and boy in the winter it was unusable as well as the kitchen basically (the best part of the house). Joe came and drilled small holes in the attic floor that they sealed up later to allow for blowing in the insulation. And they cleaned up well. we have a 20 month old but there was nothing left over for the baby to put in her mouth. Joe is great! Our dining room is toasty and the kids can play in there year-round Plus they are were less than half of the expensive "efficiency" guys PSEG sent over. Those providers wanted to charge $10,000+ for basically the same job."
"The audit was detailed and informative, but the cost of having them do the improvements was too high. I had my house insulated by a different company. "
"They arrived on time. They offered assistance with moving the furniture out of their work area. The workers made sure to cover the floors and all the furniture before they began their work. The work was completed in two days as predicted. They forgot to include one of the entryways ceilings In the contract. I mentioned this to the worker and after a phone call to Ari they proceeded to do the work. Although I would have liked to see Ari at some point during the insulation process, I believe the work was done well. We will wait for this coming winter to give our final verdict. "
"It turned out that the air quality was good, but the mold behind the tub was Stachybotrys, A.K.A. "Black Mold" which needed to be removed. This is where things got problematic for me. I knew going into the test that I would feel uncomfortable having the same company perform remediation that did the test for obvious reasons. I only chose Healthy Way because of the positive reviews on Angie's List and the promotional offer. Long story short, my insurance adjuster along with several other mold remediators thought that Healthy Way's plan for remediation was excessive, so I ended up going with another company. I really liked the people and Healthy Way and would probably use them in the future for remediation, if need be. I would prefer to have the mold test done by an independent company. "
"Mike came and did a thorough inspection of my crawlspace which was once home to a family of raccoons. CleanSpace came and cleaned and disposed of all of the soiled insulation and sanitized the space before installing new and better insulation . The work was done quickly and as described, I would recommend them for anyone in a similar situation!"
"Paragon did a great job of tearing out 2 bathrooms and 4 bedrooms (down to studs). Re-insulated, new sheetrock, molding, new doors, hardwood floors in the bedrooms, hallway and on the stairs. We had a previous issue with a contractor and Paragon stepped in and took over and really left us with a positive attitude toward contractors. Our neighbors commented on how impressed they were that the Paragon employees showed up early every day and put in full days - no disappearing in the middle of a job for another job, no missed work days. The level of experience and customer service was superb, something that is not very common these days. When we had questions, we actually had the ability to communicate with the President of Paragon, and one day when there was extra clean up to be done, his son showed up to do it (a hard-working, very polite young man). It gave me the feeling I was working with a person who runs his company and home with the same ethics - hard work, good attitude, people matter. I would not hesitate to recommend this company for any job that you need done. "
Yes, spray foam insulation can be applied to your ductwork and effectively insulate your ducts. Blanket insulation is the easiest insulation product to DIY since it is easy to wrap around ducts. However, spray foam insulation can also benefit your HVAC system if applied to air ducts.
Once installed, injection insulation requires little maintenance, but periodic inspections for air leaks or moisture buildup are recommended.
You do not always need to remove old insulation before adding new. If the existing insulation is in good condition—not wet, physically damaged, moldy, or infested with pests—you can add new insulation directly on top of it for a compounding effect. You can also mix different types, such as adding blown-in insulation around existing fiberglass batts.
However, removal is recommended if the old insulation is compromised by water damage or pests. You should also remove it if you plan to install a different type of insulation, like switching from roll or batt insulation to spray foam. If the existing insulation is very old or damaged, you will likely get more benefit from removing it and starting fresh.
Yes, professionals install and upgrade insulation for all home or business areas.
Chimney liners often benefit from insulation, though it is not always required. Insulation helps improve the liner's efficiency by keeping flue gasses hotter, which enhances draft and reduces creosote buildup. It also prevents condensation, which can lead to corrosion. Insulation is important for chimneys on exterior walls or in colder climates. Some building codes may require insulation, so checking local regulations is essential.
