"We had 6 closets, office, laundry and garage work done. Seth is a very humble and straightforward sales guy. It was a pleasure working with him and his implementation team. Very happy with everything."

"Jerry installed new shelving in a bedroom closet for me. He did an outstanding job. Jerry also kept in touch with me to confirm the date he was doing the work, reviewing his notes with me for accuracy and for purchasing materials. He was efficient and came on the day/time that we agreed to. Great experience working with Jerry!"

"The best experience I've ever had with a contractor. The owner, Isaias Caceres, provided expert advice on how to complete our project. His workers were highly skilled and courteous, cleaning the worksite at the end of each day. Our finished basement has never looked better than it does now, as a result of this work. This is a company that I'll hire again in a heartbeat."

"Excellent work. We purchased natural cherry cabinets in shaker style, with the panels made of solid wood rather than veneer. That is more difficult work, as each panel has to be constructed from several planks. Moreover, the clear finish would leave any flaws more visible. Simply put, the doors are beautiful--flawless in both construction and finish. They are similar in quality to custom cherry furniture we own."

"My husband and I highly recommend Strongmile Movers. They made what would have been a very large and daunting move completely stress-free and easy. I found Strongmile on Yelp, and after reading all their great reviews, I decided to go with them, even though I had received (slightly cheaper) estimates and personal referrals from other companies and friends. When I called for information, Joe at Strongmile was clear, detailed, and professional about what his team would provide and what we could expect. We decided to have them drive the U-Haul, which was a great option since we filled a 26-foot truck. And, we actually had to push back our move date a few times due to closing issues, and Joe was able to accommodate us without a problem each time. The day before the move, Joe called to confirm details and go over everything again one final time, which was appreciated. When moving day came, four strong, professional movers (Rob, Justin, Casper, and another Rob) showed up promptly to move our many boxes and heavy furniture from our 1 bedroom apartment and storage unit to our new house. We had a LOT of stuff to move, and they packed up the truck and unloaded it again in record time. I will also add that it poured rain on our moving day--this did not deter them or slow them down one bit. They were very considerate about wrapping our furniture and laying down tarps to protect our floors and rugs. All we had to do was tell them where we wanted furniture and boxes to be placed, and off they went. The entire move was completed within the original estimated time frame -- and even finished sooner than expected! -- and the final cost of the experience landed us smack in the middle of the financial estimate initially provided by Joe. There were no hidden fees, no weird charges, etc. And, to top it all off -- these movers were really nice guys. Fun to talk to and be around, and that fact really helped make the day so much easier and enjoyable for us. We are so happy to provide a good review for them since they did such excellent work. We absolutely would use them again, and we happily and heartily recommend them to anyone looking for nice, professional, capable, and reasonably priced movers.
Thank you, Joe, Rob, Justin, Casper, and Rob for everything!

Closets questions, answered by experts

Most packing services take 4-12 hours, while unpacking may take 1-2 days, depending on volume.

Whether it’s less expensive to build or buy a closet depends on both the type of closet and whether or not you’d be constructing it yourself. The cost of custom closets built by a pro ranges from $1,300 to $3,800, but you may be able to DIY it for as little as $400. By contrast, prefabricated options go as low as $200 and up to $3,000, so it’s almost always less expensive to go this route.

Bump-out additions can add some space to a closet without requiring any significant structural work. This entails pushing back the existing rear or side of the closet, simply moving the wall into either an adjacent room or unused space. For ground-floor closets, this could even be extended to the exterior of the home, but that has its own complications. Bump-outs are a good discussion to have with your contractor if you’re just looking to increase the space a little—not renovate the entire closet space.

A foyer or entryway is typically a formal landing area for guests, located at the primary entrance of a home. It is often more formally decorated and connects directly to the main living space. In contrast, a mudroom is a more casual, utilitarian room, usually leading in from a secondary entrance like a garage or the side or rear of the house. It serves as a space for residents to remove shoes and outerwear to keep mud, dirt, and water out of the main home.

The vertical space between closet shelves depends on what you're storing. For clothing like shirts and sweaters, 10 to 12 inches is enough. Towels and linens need 12 to 15 inches, while tall storage bins may require 18 inches or more. Overcrowding your shelves can reduce accessibility and increase clutter, so be sure to leave breathing room for your items.
