"The whole process, from the initial call to the installation was terrific. All done within 24 hours. Patty and Tony where terrific. What a great company to do business with. The two techs, Steve and Anthony, that did the install were personable and professional. They were there when they said they would be. They hauled away my old heater and had a new 400k btu unit installed in about an hour. Everything worked and was compatible with my remote system. This is a company you can rely on when you are in need of service."

"Luis was promptly responsive and very courteous. He was able to work around my schedule, which is not easy. After pulling permits, the work was done on time for exactly the price as estimated. Then the trouble started. The township has a new electrical inspector out to prove himself. He flagged the installation on an obscure standard. Unfortunately, to satisfy the inspector, Luis and his crew had to replace the entire line to the sub-panel, including the buried conduit. They stood by their guarantee and did the work promptly and at no charge to me. Even the pickiest inspector could find no fault."

"My central AC stopped cooling downstairs. I was called when the appointment time had to be changed because of an emergency. Gabriel (who owns the company) arrived before the rescheduled time. He promptly checked the electrical system before the HVAC unit. Gabriel was indeed friendly and he provided commentary as he proceeded with his analysis and repair. (He also gave tips on how to maintain the unit throughout the year.) Before long, the work was done and my central AC was functioning as before. Top class professional."

"On a Wednesday NJ Natural Gas found two gas leaks in our basement. One at our hot water heater and one on a corroded pipe at the foundation right inside where the pipe goes out to the meter. The latter was the more severe leak. NJ Natural gas turned our gas off. I called Mastropiero on Thursday morning on the recommendation of a friend. The receptionist was friendly and reassuring in terms of being able to get the work done quickly. A technician was at our house within a few hours. He inspected the two spots, provided a general idea of what would be required, indicated that the work was fairly routine, and that the cost would be under $1000 but a final estimate would be provided later that day. The gas company had thought there would have to be cutting and unions installed along the corroded pipes. Mastropiero however proposed replacing the pipes altogether, certainly saving time. And in terms of the labor costs, money too, I would presume. Later that day an estimate of $750 was given, an estimated 3 hours of work, and the job was scheduled for the following morning, Friday. On Friday, the plumber arrived on schedule and as indicated, replaced the leaking pipes. There's not much more to say than that they did the work promised, on schedule, and at the cost quoted. I feared that a gas leak could be a major problem, but Mastropiero handled so that it was not. NJ Natural Gas had set up our meter so that the plumber could restore service after the job was completed. So within about 36 hours of losing service, we had it back with new pipes less likely to corrode again. NJ Natural Gas came on the following Monday to confirm that the leaks were gone and the work had all been done to code and standards. It was. As our initial experience with them was one of courtesy, professionalism, and results, we will use Mastropiero again without hesitation."

Sauna Installation questions, answered by experts

Considering the cost of tools, parts, and hiring assisted labor, building your own sauna can cost almost as much as purchasing one. It is less expensive to buy sauna kits, since they are premade and easier to set up. Still, you may need to hire a professional to assist in electric or plumbing installation.

No, you should only choose high-quality wood to build your sauna. Not all types of woods can withstand the pressure from heat or moisture. Only use softwoods, such as cedar and aspen, that are known for absorbing heat and resisting water.

The primary difference between a steam shower and a sauna is the type of heat they produce. A sauna generates dry heat using electricity, while a steam shower creates wet heat from steam, resulting in nearly 100% humidity. A steam shower typically replaces an existing shower, has an opening at the top, and operates at a lower temperature (around 90-120°F) than a sauna, though the high humidity can make it feel just as warm. It is advisable to limit steam sessions to 20 minutes. In contrast, a sauna is a fully enclosed space that can be placed anywhere in a house and produces dry heat.

Both saunas and steam rooms offer some health benefits as well as a good return on investment. While there’s more research on saunas than steam rooms and fewer reported risks with steam rooms, the latter tend to be better for reducing stress. Which one is better depends on the benefits you’re looking for, your budget, and if you have space to build a sauna.

A home sauna may be considered a luxury item by some homebuyers, which can provide a good return on investment. However, whether it increases your home's value ultimately depends on the buyer, as some may not want to take on the extra costs and maintenance associated with heating and upkeep.
