Friendly Electric Heating & Air

My house is 110 years old. They were willing to do the job. They weren't afraid of the job. They came in and did it with as little disruption as possible. It's a messy job so it's difficult to do it without disruption. They did it in a timely fashion.

My central AC stopped cooling downstairs. I was called when the appointment time had to be changed because of an emergency. Gabriel (who owns the company) arrived before the rescheduled time. He promptly checked the electrical system before the HVAC unit. Gabriel was indeed friendly and he provided commentary as he proceeded with his analysis and repair. (He also gave tips on how to maintain the unit throughout the year.) Before long, the work was done and my central AC was functioning as before. Top class professional.

Dan came out as a subcontractor to basement waterproofing company to install two new receptacles for the two sump pumps that had been installed. While there we asked him to fix a problem quad receptacle and inspect the existing basement and garage electrical for any code issues. He pointed out the exceptions and we asked him to go ahead and do the necessary work while he was there. Dan was very professional and explained all the work he would perform. He was there the entire day and everything has worked fine since. I would not hesitate to call Friendly for any additional work I may need to have performed.

Dan came by to perform this work and was super nice, he even gave me a suggestion of outdoor security lights that would look better cosmetically. (for example, I bought black but white matched my house much better) Dan really knows his stuff, made something I'd never be able to do look effortless. I'd also like to shout out Brianna, I talked to her a few times and she was very pleasant. At the end of the day, Friendly Electric Heating and Air lives up to there name and I plan on using them again very soon.

Last week, my 90 year old mother wanted to remove a light bulb from one of the kitchen high hats. Being 90, she couldn't climb a step stool or twist the light out. She wanted to replace the bulbs with energy efficient bulbs. Three other people tried to get the light bulbs out with no luck. She called 'Friendly Electric' and asked if they could send out the worker who had done the work from a year earlier. The gentleman eventually showed up. Before he even got a foot in the door he informed my 90 year old mother that this visit would cost her $120 to remove the light bulbs. She called back to 'Friendly Electric' and eventually got the owner on the phone. She felt that $120 to remove light bulbs that they had installed which no one could remove was their responsibility. The owner told her that the warranty period was over. He said that his guys have to get paid. She told him that she understood that but $120 to remove light bulbs was almost extortion. He eventually whittled the price down to $32. She said she's not paying one nickel. So, the owner of 'Friendly Electric' told her to 'never call this number again!' and hung up on my 90 year old mother. The worker who was there felt embarrassed and went to remove the light bulbs. He couldn't even get them out. He worked on them for over an hour to remove them. Eventually he got them out. I think Mr. Friendly Electric of Freehold, NJ should be put on a herring boat for Iceland and left on a rock. It amazes me how a 'company' like 'Friendly Electric' can take advantage of the elderly - which is most of the population of Monroe Township with all the retirement communities that are there, then when called to help, charges an amount that would make a loan shark blink twice, then have the utter gall to tell a 90 year old woman with arthritis in both hands to never call him again. I would have a few choice words for this gentleman but I will keep this clean. 'Friendly Electric' is anything but friendly. They should be avoided like 30 day old pork.

Dan was great. Very personable and very knowledgeable. He went above and beyond to ensure the job was done with care.

The technician indicated we have a leak in the water heater (when there wasnt a single drop of water on the floor or around) - and that the entire heater needs replaced (since the pilot flame was getting out every few hours) He provided a massive estimate - we went in for a second opinion and the technician from other company came in, cleaned up the pilot flame area - it's been over a month now and the flame is just fine.

Friendly Electric is great. Love their staff and general attention to detail. They came out to inspect our 3 HVAC units, provided a thorough cleaning, and cleaned some of our duct work. We have also since used them to install a humidifier to one of the units and they are now my regular service crew. Highly recommend.

The tech was on time and did the installation - the cost seemed a little high, but I didn't get any other estimates at the time for the work since I had an Angie's List Deal with them. Next time I would just get a few estimates first to get a comparison to see if their pricing is competitive. Otherwise everything was good, he cleaned up after himself and even fixed and replaced an outlet cover on another outlet that was missing one and was loose in the wall.

The job took a long time because the technician had to crawl into some tight spaces in the attic to wire the light. He was great, but the price of the job was a little more then I was hoping.

I called Friendly Electric when my furnace broke and inquired about their Angie's list deal. Michelle in the office and Tyler, the technician were great. They really made sure that they explained everything and the increase over the price in the deal and reviewed the quote again for me. Michelle kept in contact with me to let me know of the estimated arrival of the tech and followed up on the quote. Tyler came out and reviewed the situation and was thorough at explaining everything. Unfortunately, I chose to go with another company that I had used before because I felt more comfortable going with someone I knew. I definately made the wrong decision as the other provider wound up charging me much more than the original quote and far more than Friendly Electric. If given the chance again, I would use their services.

The service went very well. They let me know the system was working just fine. One technician came out and completed the job in about 5-10 minutes. He was friendly and informative. I had no problem scheduling the deal.

There were no additional costs. They were here for about thirty minutes and they left no mess behind. Overall, my experience with them was fine.

They told me that I should call Angie’s list to get a refund. What I paid for did not cover the work they were going to do.

yon,which i jumped on. Everyone there Brian,Dan K and Chris. are fantastic. My confidence in them and their workmanship is great .Four separate lines in my basement, rewiring new lights in bathroom, and installing exhaust for new bathroom. I gladly hand out their cards to friends so they can also get great service. Who ever reads this trust me. You too will be impressed by them. Give them a call. You wont regret.

They came and gave an estimate to run wire and install a switch for a ceiling fan. Due to the high cost of the estimate, I felt it was unacceptably high and requested a refund for this deal.

It was easy to get an appointment and they were courteous and professional. They arrived on time but I thought the price was a little high.

They checked out my furnace, cleaned it and change some wires. They also adjusted the panel.

I bought a deal to service my permanent home generator (manufactured by Generac) from Angie's List for $275 to perform a full service - oil change etc.. After I paid for the deal, I was given the name of the company to service it - Friendly Electric, Hillsborough NJ, who showed on Jan 9th 2015, as per my requested appointment. Unfortunately, when the electrician came to service the generator, he wanted a key to the generator and I did not have one. When I called Generac , the manufacturer for a key, they indicated that all AUTHORIZED service providers for Generac have a key and others will not have the key and are not authorized to perform a service. Obviously, as a homeowner, I was not aware of this situation and I cannot USE the Angie's List deal that I fully paid an purchased for $275. Hence I would like to initiate a refund for the same to my credit card as soon as possible. Thanks.

Scheduled to begin and complete job on 1/12/15. So far, service staff was on time with scheduled appt for estimate and job review and very professional and knowledgeable. Office staff was great! Very friendly and informative and followed up on appt times and needs.

I purchased an Angie's deal for $200.00 worth of service for $79.00. In addition I was charged $324.32 to complete the work. So my total cost was $403.34. ($524.32 in theory). I thought this cost was somewhat high considering both were replacements pieces. All the electrical wiring was already done. However, the work was done good and the technician was friendly. He cleaned up well after completing the work. Because of the price, I most likely will not use this provider again.

Company came to my home to provider an estimate that was extremely higher that the other quotes we received. Went with another contractor.

Bruney was on time and fixed both areas in less than an hour. He is always very courteous and clear in his explanations. (The price quoted above includes a $79 Angie's list deal for $200 worth of electrical work and a service contract discount.)

They did a good job. The pricing was unclear, and when I was given the price it was much higher. This discrepancy was resolved after I called in and spoke with them. I would recommend speaking with them about the final price in reference to the work that you needed done before starting work.
