"FANTASTIC! Freddy came and quickly mapped the old wiring in the house that was causing the circuit to blow. He analyzed what I needed done, and worked with me in ways I could afford. I now have four new ceiling lights and outlets in my office dedicated to computer equipment. The blower for my fireplace is working again. The next project will be new lighting and dedicated outlets for my craft room. Freddy himself has a quiet, pleasant personality and a gift for problem solving. I cannot recommend this young man highly enough to anyone who has electrical work that needs resolution, private or commercial."

"Dave and Alex did a fantastic job on my new home. They installed a new sub panel, and changed all the old outlets and light switches. They replaced my ceiling fan and chandelier. They installed new ceiling light fixtures in all the bedrooms, the kitchen and the living room. They also added additional outlets, replaced a venting light in the bathroom and replaced all of my outdoor lighting fixtures. Dave was easy to reach and was on time every day. They always cleaned up after themselves. Their work is top notch and I would definitely hire them again. In fact he is coming to do some additional work in the very near future."

"Roy from RAP called me very quickly after I submitted the request. He instructed me how to reset the light receptacle over the phone after I explained the issues to him. The issue was resolved without having him coming over. Roy is very knowledgeable and honest. I would recommend him to anyone who needs electrical works."

Chandelier Installation questions, answered by experts

Yes, recessed lights can be installed in a bathroom and are a popular choice for several reasons. Recessed lights have a compact, flush-to-ceiling design, which makes them ideal for providing ample light and modern style in bathrooms without taking up too much space.

Also, because recessed lighting sits in a housing inside the ceiling, it makes it a safe, watertight lighting option for your shower. Just make sure they’re wet- or damp-rated before you install them in your bathroom.

Testing tools, such as Christmas light testers, non-contact proximity electrical testers, and multimeters, all simplify the process of testing Christmas lights. However, without one or more of those tools, testing Christmas lights the old-fashioned way only works sometimes. Without testing tools, the simplest testing method is visual inspection, which may or may not yield positive results.

Between the relatively simple process and the lower cost of installing recessed lighting yourself, it’s not a bad idea to DIY this project. It will take a little reading on electrical safety and how to properly wire your new recessed fixture, but it’s fairly easy to install a new fixture in just a couple of hours if you have the right tools and supplies on hand. But, if you’re not familiar with lighting installation, hiring a professional can give you peace of mind and ensure the job is done right.

Some types of fixtures might be a little trickier to remove than others, but they’re all relatively basic DIY jobs that should take an hour or less. Identifying the type of light you have is the first step in a safe, simple removal—learn how to remove recessed lights for a quick how-to on taking out one of the more common types of fixtures.

Yes, a handyperson can install a new light fixture in place of an existing fixture. A handyperson typically cannot complete significant electrical work or change a home's wiring. If you want to install a light fixture in a new location, consult a properly licensed and insured electrician according to your local regulations.
