"Touched by God is a very professional business with highly skilled carpenters. The work they did to install custom molding, trim, door casings, and picture frames really transformed our home. What was a 20 year old home is now a beautifully updated home. Diego and his team really worked with us to achieve everything we wanted and then some â - all within committed timeframes."

"Willie is just amazing!!! Totally blown away with the whole experience and quality of his companies work! He was quick to respond to my multiple questions and was a pleasure to talk to! Him and his partner went ABOVE and beyond! I had a list of things to get done for a local move. They unmounted and remounted my 60 inch TV, broke down and reassembled my adjustable bed frame(Which was huge and friggen heavy), put together big furniture cabinet, Took apart an old wooden bed frame and hung curtains rods for my bedroom windows. They were fast, efficient, friendly, informative and very reasonably priced! This guy does it all so if you need a task completed call Willie! 10 out of 10! HIGHLY RECOMMEND"

"Eddie and his crew did a wonderful job of renovating our old outdated closet doors (8ft high bifolds) to a new standard door size with framing for multiple closets. Eddie did exactly what we requested at a reasonable price - I would definitely recommend Eddie."

"E A D Home Improvements was the best decision that my wife and I made to accomplish our roofing job. Although we had gotten a number of estimates from other contractors, E A D came in with the best offer, without cutting corners, for the money. They will beat any estimate and will NOT force any other unnecessary work on you just to make extra money. When Ernie Duffy came over, he explained the entire job in terms which were clear and concise. The contract was written in a way which was easily understandable and he explained everything. He was here from start to finish; when the shingles arrived, during complete tear off and installation, during clean up ( which was immaculate ), when the new gutters were installed and even when the dumpster got picked up to be sure that the driveway was cleaned under the dumpster. He even stopped by a week later to see if we were completely satisfied with the job and if we had any issues. His crew were true professionals, not day laborers looking to make a quick buck. Clean up, again, was immaculate. The day after the job was completed, I raked my lawn in preparation to put down fertilizer and found only 2 nails between the front and back. They worked from the time they got here until quitting time and the job was completed in 1 1/2 days. This company is truly a professional business and I HIGHLY RECOMMEND them for any home improvement job that you may have. We can only give 5 stars, but I give them 10++. Thanks E A D Home Improvements, and you Ernie, from an extremely satisfied customer."

"We hired Home Masters through Angi's and couldn't be happier. Our concrete porch was pitted and cracked, and our front step was not ADA compliant and difficult to use, since I'm disabled. Jim was a pleasure to work with, and his experience was evident from our first meeting. His crew started the project exactly as promised, and the finished job couldn't look nicer. The men cleaned up all the debris, and you'd never guess that there had ever been a mess. I've never had such pleasant experience with any contractor as I did with Jim. I highly recommend Home Masters."

Carpentry questions, answered by experts

Building a barndominium means converting a barn into a house. Barndominiums are becoming popular as spacious and stylish alternatives to typical housing structures. Old barns that become houses traditionally consist of wooden construction. However, newer structures, such as pole barns, often contain metal exteriors and roofs. Converting a metal outbuilding into a house presents an excellent opportunity to create a barndominium from metal.

You can choose 5/8-inch plywood or 3/4-inch plywood—anything thinner than these sizes may not withstand the impact of debris propelled by strong winds or can be easily torn off by intruders. Remember that the durability of the wood board is crucial, particularly for safeguarding your windows during severe storms. The effectiveness of using wood boards for protecting the investment you made in your home relies on using the appropriate material and ensuring proper installation.

The cost to install a bow window can range from $1,500 to $15,000, with a national average of $3,900. The total price includes materials, which can cost between $1,200 and over $14,000, and labor, which typically adds $300 to $1,900. Several factors influence the final cost, including the window's size and frame material. For example, vinyl frames are the most budget-friendly option, while wood frames are more expensive. Custom features or energy-efficient upgrades will also increase the price. For comparison, a bay window installation typically costs between $1,000 and $7,000.

The easiest way to tell if a wall is load bearing is to check if it’s an exterior wall or if it runs perpendicular to the joists above and below it (or parallel to beams). Exterior walls are almost always load-bearing, and walls that run under beams or parallel to them are also usually load-bearing. There are exceptions to these rules, and walls that don’t fit into these categories can still be load-bearing. If you’re unsure, hire a structural engineer to look at your home to assess whether or not the wall is structural.

Framing a basement takes three to five days, on average, when completed by a professional, though it may take longer for a larger space. Keep in mind this doesn’t include the time to complete the design, obtain permits, and install the drywall on the framing. On average, fully finishing a basement takes an average of 45 days.
