"Victor ... I think that's the right name ... was very informative and yet fun as he worked on my project (replaced leaky hose faucet and its indoor cut-off valve). He ALSO quoted replacement of the leaky hose faucet on the front of my house, but advised saving my money by not doing that. I liked that he tried to save me money. For example, he showed me that one leak was really a leaking hose, not faucet. To prove it, he put his own hose on my faucet and then offered to trade: my cheap, leaking hose for his professional one."

"These guys are great. Keith, the owner, came by and mapped out the whole thing. His vision was wonderfully creative and he was very responsive to what I wanted, while also giving me good advice. His workers were prompt, neat, and very easy to deal with. The finished product is gorgeous. I got to pick out my plants and they helped me find things that would grow well in the space without a lot of work. The workmanship on the patio, fence and steps is top notch. It was expensive, but the price was fair for all they did for me. I'm sure I increased the value of my home much more than I paid. I now have a beautiful backyard.

Fountains questions, answered by experts

When deciding whether or not to turn off your pump, you should consider your area’s climate and the aquatic life in your pond. If you live in an area with freezing winter temperatures and don’t have any wildlife, keeping your pump on could damage it. If you have aquatic life but live in a colder climate, you might consider keeping your pump running and adding a pond heater.

You have several options for your pond by getting your yard ready for the winter. You can winterize your koi pond by ensuring it’s at least 5 feet deep so it doesn’t freeze completely, installing a pond heater or aerator and having it run at all times, and installing a deicer if temperatures are dangerously low for an extended period. You can also choose to shut down your pond for the winter by removing all the wildlife in it and bringing it indoors, cleaning out the filter and pump, and then covering the pond with a tarp.

Natural pools don’t necessarily attract snakes, although there is a chance they could stop by for a quick visit. They’re not likely to stay, however, because there’s nothing for snakes to eat in a natural pool environment. A well-maintained natural pool has clear water, so you should be able to easily spot a snake before diving in.

A koi pond may add value to your home if it’s a feature sellers are looking for. Like pools, ponds can affect your property value depending on their condition, whether they’re a popular selling point, and how well they’re incorporated into your home’s landscape.

Backyard water features can add serenity to your property, drown out neighborhood noise, and serve as a focal point to a stunning landscape design. In some cases, a properly installed and maintained water feature can add to your home’s value. Just be sure to check with your insurance company before installation since some features may affect your premiums.
