This is the first-ever bad review I have taken the time to write but felt it was warranted. I hired Aqua Renovations from Doylestown, PA to remodel our existing pool, to include re-plastering, retile, and stain concrete around the pool. Initial meetings were good and the price seemed fair. Once the job started I realized that Aqua Renovations does not do any of the work. Bob subs it all out to company from Texas (Ocean Blue). The work seemed rushed and short cuts were taken to get the job done and paid. One example rushing is staining the concrete in the pouring rain, obviously, it looked horrible the next day, and needed to be re-done. Bob was never on-site when the crew from Texas was working on my pool, it seemed he wanted me to be the supervisor on the job, relaying information to his crew. Even the last day when the job was supposedly complete, he would not even come and see the finished product. When the job was finished, there were footprints all throughout the new plaster, when I complained about it, he texted me to keep brushing When I continued to complain, the guys from Texas came back and worked on it, clearing up only some of the prints. When I talked to the plaster guys, he told me he made the prints when he put the light back in and the drain cover at the bottom of the pool. When I complained again to Bob, he told me that the plaster guys said that it was not him and inferred that it was me that put the footprints on the plaster, which is impossible because no one was ever in the pool except the plaster guys. I feel as Bob was challenging my integrity. Ten days after the job was completed Bob showed up at my house to drop off a pool cleaner that was part of the deal, at this time he finally saw the completed job, and he got to see all the footprints. He tried to tell me the pool looked beautiful even after seeing the footprints. His explanation to me was sometimes happening and sometimes guys on the crew do not give, not what you want to hear when you spent $16,000 on a remodel. He then talked about how nice his other jobs are, and I questioned why I paid the same amount as his nice jobs but got no answer. I learned a lot in this experience and will never hire someone who just subs the job out, which apparently is very common in pool remodels. Take time and research the company and who actually does the work. My wife and I spent our hard-earned money on this, and just feel this experience took a lot of the fun out of getting a remodel.
