"Mark came quickly and gave us an estimate . They were ready to start within a few days and came when they said they would. They removed the wallpaper and had to do a significant amount of patching and sanding. They did the job effectively and efficiently. They left our home cleaned up and ready to paint. The walls were in excellent condition. We would hire them again."

"They did as agreed and I never had the opportunity to meet with them. Impressed with the cutting around wires and lighting… clean and perfect with no overpaint… one coat did the job. I’d hire again."

"The OnCall team does wonderful work installing wallpaper! They are very communicative, thorough and clean. I have worked with them on many projects and they always do a great job! They also do repair work seamlessly (we had them do one on an older install that was by someone else we had extra paper for). The team members have a good eye and are experts in their field."

"A and Z did wallpaper in my daughters room and did an amazing job. They were available the next day after I contacted them, brought all their own materials, and finished the job in under an hour. The wallpaper looks absolutely gorgeous you can’t see any seams and everything is beautiful!"

"Miguel was efficient and very easy to work with. The wallpaper removal was not an easy task, but he got it done and painted. We are definitely pleased with the results. We're having him back for another job too."

"The crew shower up on time. Did all the prep work, patched and sanded all the imperfections, applied a coat of primer and two coats of paint. Attention to detail, work along edges and mouldings was amazing. After the work was completed, they cleaned, helped me mount the tv back on the wall and we began enjoying freshly painted space. Love the new colour."

"I'm very happy with the work Tony did. He was responsive to my inquiry and called right away to schedule time to come out for a quote. He answered my questions, and explained how he would work and what he would do. He did the work on the day promised, kept in contact when he was on his way and alerted me to any scheduling issues in advance. He had to come back the next morning to finish up a few things and in spite of having a problem with his transportation, made it back to finish the job. He was professional, neat and I plan to hire him again for some painting work. His price was reasonable and competitive for the work done. Can't say anything negative, and based on my experience would certainly recommend him to anyone needing similar work."

Wallpapering questions, answered by experts

If you can already see the texture of the existing wallpaper through the layer of paint, then the texture could also come through the new layer of wallpaper. If that’s the aesthetic you want, then proceed. But if you want a smoother surface, you should either strip off the existing paint and wallpaper or hang a layer of liner paper before proceeding.

When comparing peel-and-stick and traditional wallpaper, the better choice depends on your specific needs and space. Peel-and-stick wallpaper is more budget-friendly and easier to DIY install. On the other hand, traditional wallpaper lasts much longer and holds up better in a wider variety of spaces, including areas with moisture like kitchens and bathrooms.

Both paint and wallpaper can work in a bathroom, provided you choose high-quality products in either category. Washable vinyl wallpapers can stand up to bathroom humidity without peeling, as can semi-gloss or gloss paint finishes. However, if you’re someone who likes to redecorate often, paint may make it easier to change colors or designs more quickly. If you want full humidity protection and cleanability, tile or stone works better.

If you need a stronger magnetic surface, or you need to use a different type of paint in the room (like waterproof paint in a damp basement), there are other accessible options. You could fit a steel panel over the wall, try magnetic wallpaper, or apply chalk paint instead.

If you want an inexpensive shortcut, hang a pinboard or chalkboard on your wall. These removable options are ideal if you’re a renter who can’t repaint or plan to move in the near future.

Yes, you can put wallpaper in a bathroom, but whether it's a good idea depends on several factors. Because bathrooms are high-humidity areas, it's crucial to choose a water-resistant wallpaper, such as one made of vinyl. Proper wall preparation is also critical to ensure the paper adheres well, even after many steamy showers. The wallpaper's placement also affects its longevity; it will hold up better on an accent wall or away from direct water contact, rather than immediately next to a shower. A well-ventilated bathroom will yield the best results.
