"RAP did a very good job power washing a backyard fence in preparation for staining. Rich was reliable and easy to work with. He kept in touch with me, kept to the schedule, arrived on time, and performed the job exactly as we agreed upon. I would definitely use them again."

"I had a fabulous experience with Narendra and Star Painting - what a great company to work with.  They did a fantastic job on all fronts.  To prepare for the project, Narendra told me that all I had to do was pick out the paint colors - nothing else -  and he was spot on!  The staff moved every piece of furniture, every wall hanging, covered everything with drop cloths, took off wall plates and electrical outlet covers - did a fabulous job prepping and painting - then put everything back and cleaned up after themselves.  Knowledgeable and competitively priced - and friendly as well. They even helped me solve a few minor trim and caulking issues in the bathroom and our landing that were bugging me.  I will definitely call on Star Painting again and would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone looking for quality work.  THIS is what Angie's List is all about - connecting folks to quality service providers. I'm not sure I would have found them if not for this service (they were located a bit far away) and I couldn't be happier - thank you Star Painting and Angie's List!

Sandblasting Services questions, answered by experts

Seal joints, clean debris regularly, and address cracks promptly to maintain appearance and stability.

The best way to sand a deck is by cleaning it, sanding the boards and stairs with 60- or 80-grit sandpaper, and sanding the railings and posts with 80-grit sandpaper. You should sand in the direction of the wood grain to avoid damaging the timber. When sanding your deck, use medium pressure and aim for an even sand. Pressing too hard with a sander can damage decks, as most are softwoods.

DIY is possible, but professional services ensure even removal, safety compliance, and proper cleanup.

Yes, many professionals use dustless or water-based blasting methods for reduced environmental impact.

Soda-blasting systems are slightly more expensive than sandblasting systems. To soda blast, you’ll need to spend a few hundred dollars for a blast hose and nozzle, a compressed air supply, a blast generator, a moisture decontamination system, and sodium bicarbonate media, a recurring cost because the powder is not reusable. To start with sandblasting, you will need to spend upwards of $30 for a blast pot, a blast gun, an air compressor, and sandblasting media, many of which are recyclable—further reducing the cost. The total cost for either will depend on the size of the system.
