"Received excellent service and a high-quality siding installation from George J Keller & Sons. Our historic home has cedar bevel siding, which had failed prematurely due to another provider’s poor quality materials and workmanship. We hired G J Keller to replace the shoddy installation we had inherited, and to “do the job right” with new cedar material, which is precisely what they delivered. From the initial consult meetings/proposal, through the the scheduling, installation, closeout and cleanup, my end-to-end experience with G J Keller was top-notch. Every interaction I had with the team was a pleasure; with Dan (proposal/contract), Jaime (back-office/scheduling), Ray (project manager), Jesus (crew foreman), Mike (senior installation expertise). There were a couple challenging/tricky installation details on our job, and I felt those were handled by Mike/Ray very thoughtfully, patiently and creatively, with a high focus on making sure I was going to ultimately be satisfied with the end result. Across the board I found the entire staff to be accommodating, competent, responsive and communicative professionals who delivered a high-quality install, with great customer service, at a fair price. Highest marks to Dan, Mike, and the extended team at GJ Keller. Would strongly recommend to others, and would use again myself, without hesitation."

Customers say: True professional

"I love my new home .. We literally touched every room and added a new bathroom and closet. The electrical, plumbing and HVAC systems were updated. We got a new kitchen, new roof, new windows, and new siding. We reframed the front elevation to give the home a more modern look. And we did this during the pandemic. It’s done now and I am very happy."

"Gabrielle and Dominick were a pleasure to work with. They replaced all our windows, put up HardiePlank siding and a new front door. They went above and beyond our expectations! The house looks great! Her team are experts at siding- even the other vendors, the oil tank guys, said what a terrific job they were doing! Highly recommend them-- they are kind, honest and very good at what they do!"

Siding questions, answered by experts

Yes, new stucco siding can increase your home's value and curb appeal, similar to other new siding materials. Homeowners can expect an average return on investment (ROI) of around 70%. For an average stucco installation costing $5,700, this can translate to a value increase of nearly $4,000. The value can be further enhanced by choosing high-end textures or simulating more expensive materials like brick. Stucco is also a durable, fire-resistant, and versatile material that can last 50 years or more, making it an attractive feature for potential buyers, especially in hotter climates where its insulating properties are beneficial.

Consider your home's architectural style, neighborhood guidelines, and the vendor's options. Samples and software previews can help visualize the final result.

Stucco siding is the most energy-efficient option on its own, but you can choose insulated vinyl, insulated metal, or insulated brick or stone facade siding that improves energy efficiency even further. These options include a layer of foam insulation under the siding to reduce heat transfer between your living space and the exterior. If you live in a particularly sunny climate, a reflective option like insulated steel or aluminum siding can maximize efficiency.

Clapboard siding is traditionally made of wood, and is one of the most common types of wood siding in North America. When people talk about wood siding, they are usually talking about clapboard siding. However, not all wood siding is in the clapboard style: It can be tongue-and-groove, shake, and other designs. Also, clapboard siding can sometimes be made of different materials, like vinyl or fiber cement, so the terms are not interchangeable.

For homeowners looking for a less expensive alternative to metal siding, the most popular choice is vinyl siding. At just $3 to $12 per square foot, vinyl siding can cost much less than some types of metal siding. Other popular alternatives include fiber cement and engineered wood. Consult a local siding contractor to determine which type of siding will work best for your home.
