"Wow!! What a professional. Nick did everything you would want a technician to do from start to finish on a service call. He knows central vacuum systems inside and out, his work is meticulous, he is reliable and fast, and his pricing is extremely fair. I will not use anyone else moving forward for any central vacuum installation or service work needs. FIVE STARS+++ and Thank You Nick!!!"

"the cleaning is ok, according to my husband. The word"unlimited" on coupon is misleading.  Totally we paid $400 for full house (2 system) air duct cleaning + tax. One by coupon, one paided when the person arrived and said only do one system and we have to pay the other one to avoid scheduling another appointment.
I expect the less then $400, that's what should be called deal. So when the  Ad saying it's originally worth $400, I believed. The DEAL IS NOT THAT ATTRACTIVE. Scheduling with local dealers might be easier and cheaper.

I had a flood in my kitchen and I called them and they came and fixed it and I bought materials to fix my sink and add things in. They ended up being way too expensive for the parts, they were overpriced for what they were. I did a service contract with them before I found out how much the parts were so I was glued to that. They left and then my kitchen flooded even worse. I called them to complain and then they were going to charge for what they broke. The manager called back and said can you please give us an opportunity to correct everything and I will suspend the service charge on your contract for a couple months. I knew that I was not going to call them back because I got another estimate for changing the hardware in my bathroom, based on the fact that they said it was in violation. But the city of Beacon said it was not in violation. I cancelled because that was not the field. They were disappointing; the estimates were inflated and they did not tell the truth. It was a con job.

"I took advantage of the "Big Deals" and hired Rogers Construction through Angie's List for a complete bathroom reno.
Roger was punctual at beginning of the project. His team Luis and Antonio quickly completed the demo and removed the rubbish and Luis was careful with detail when he installed the tile work. Roger suggested design ideas and worked with me with payment questions.
The completed reno work dragged on longer than expected due to other projects Roger was working on, but it wasn't too bad.
There was some confusion about when and how the service provider gets reimbursed from Angie's List (Big Deals) for the down payment that is due to them for a project. Roger had no knowledge that the down payment paid to Angies List was supposed to eventually go to him and because of this he expected the expense to come from me when the final payment was made. Attempting to help him better understand, I explained the process to him and encouraged him to contact his rep for details. As I read other reviews after my bathroom was completed I saw that other customers continued to have similar problems. Angie's List needs to be more clear to their service providers about the details involving the "Big Deals".  Maybe this is why he was placed in the "penalty box".
The final cost was more than what the "Big Deal" was offering because the project required additional labor at my request.
Overall, I was happy with the finished work. The labor, attention to detail and the overall design of the room was impressive. My new bathroom was exactly how I envisioned it to be. I would recommend him.

Central Vacuum Systems questions, answered by experts

Common repairs for central vacuum cleaners include motor repair, electrical repair, and blocked filters. Central vacuum motor issues typically come with a burning smell and loss of suction. With these issues, you might need simple lubrication to keep it running smoothly, or for more extreme problems, you could need a motor replacement.

Electrical problems or losing suction strength, might be reasons to swap out electrical components for new ones. However, a local central vacuum repair professional can tell you the best plan of action for your system.

A central vacuum system can be a worthwhile investment depending on your needs and budget. While the upfront cost is higher than a traditional vacuum cleaner, it offers significant long-term benefits. These systems can save you time and make cleaning your home easier, as you only need to carry the hose and vacuum head, eliminating the need to lug a heavy unit up and down stairs. They also tend to operate more quietly and can improve indoor air quality. The convenience and performance over many years may make it a valuable addition to your home if you can budget for the initial installation.

If your central vacuum has lost suction, you probably have a clog in the system. You can remove a clog yourself using a portable vacuum cleaner or central vacuum maintenance sheets. Stubborn clogs or damage to the system require a specialized technician to repair.

Yes, installing a central vacuum system typically adds value to your home. The ease of use, longevity, and superior suction power of a central vacuum system can add up to $2,000 to your home’s value if you decide to sell. Potential buyers may consider the central vacuum a perk to purchasing your home.

It can be difficult to know right away if your central vacuum is clogged since it operates quietly compared to regular vacuums. However, there are a couple of signs you can look for. If you feel like it’s losing suction or isn’t cleaning effectively, then there’s likely a clog somewhere.

Make sure you turn the vacuum on and feel the end of the hose handle. If you don’t feel any suction, then you’re dealing with a clog in the hose. You can see if the clog is further down in the system by attaching the hose to each outlet until you find the one with the least amount of suction.
