"Thank you for your feedback, Susan. I am sorry there was some misunderstanding regarding what you mention. Allow me to clarify some points, please. Please note that when I quoted you the price over the phone I had mentioned to you that it was a general estimate based upon what you told me over the phone without me seeing anything and that when the technician comes out he will give you a free estimate with exact price and we can proceed as you wish. The reason the price went up is because it was not a regular cleaning, there was a significant amount of mold in the ducts that had to be handled, and there was no way for us to assess the condition until we came out there. And there were also 6 more vents than the number given to us over the phone when we did the estimate. Nevertheless, with your satisfaction in mind, we honored what I had told you over the phone. The reason some of the ducts were not closed, is because of the mold exposure in the ducts. I discussed that with your insurance agent afterwards over the phone and explained to him the condition, and what needed to be done. I am happy to say that we followed all the steps that we promised you we would do, as far as assessing the mold situation, cleaning the ducts, and following up with the insurance agent afterwards. As the technician had mentioned to you, the vent in dining room was originally improperly installed. The screws were drilled into the sheet rock, and not into the metal bracket, if he had drilled in again it would have loosened the cover more. So he wedged it into the frame so that it stays in place. I offered to come out and release it for you when we talked over the phone. My offer still stands. When we talked over the phone after job was done, you mentioned that another technician cam out for another matter, but he opened one vent at house entrance and told you that we didn't clean it, he then offered to clean all vents for you again, at a cost. To validate the ethical nature of his advice, I offered to come out for free and double check the vents for you. And I assured you that the vents were cleaned. But to ensure that nothing was missed, I was willing to come out go over them at no cost if it would give you peace of mind so that you don't get stuck between to contractors giving you contradicting statements.
