"We had 3 separate crews (windows, sidings and gutters). All 3 great, started work as soon as they arrived at 8 AM and did not stop until either the job was done or it was quitting time (which in the case of the siding crew was well past 5:00. Everything was completed in the time fram e we were given, and the house looks incredible. I am currently consider a move, and if my new house needs any work, I will definitely call Clear Choice."

"Eric did a great job while giving me my quote. He was very knowledgeable and found some issues with my siding that I hadnt noticed yet. He showed me the product that DaBella was offering and the differences in other siding materials. He worked very hard to make the siding replacement quote affordable and fit all of our needs. I cannot wait to get the new siding."

"Once again Brian and his crew after doing a great roofing job on our home have come through again for me. They just finished restoring the outside of our daughter's post and beam cedar sided home. They replaced all rotten or soft wood which was extensive, a great deal of work. Then they power washed, sanded, primed and stained the house. They brought the house back where it can be maintain properly. They also replaced the roof on her garage. They went above and beyond and we are once again we are very satisfied with the work they did, the time frame and the price. Looking to have them do some inside work this winter in our home."

Small jobs welcome

"They are amazing. Ky roof leaked, they were able to come up with affordable solutions. They fit me into their busy schedule very rapidly. They are prompt, very respectful and professional on the jobsite, they did great work and were very neat. They made sure to check the grounds multiple times for any scraps, nails, or other debris before leaving. There was no sign they were ever there except for a beautiful new roof. I highly recommend them."

Siding questions, answered by experts

There should be small gaps between your roof and the walls of your home, and other buildings. These small gaps let building materials shift, expand, and contract with weather and other outside forces, and they prevent moisture from wicking down walls from roofing and gutter systems. Without these strategic gaps, your home’s exterior and its finishes can sustain water damage, decay, peel, delaminate, and crack. However, there is a fine line between a smart gap and a problematic gap—all  gaps should be small, intentional, and covered or filled in with foam insulation to prevent pests from using them as access points.

To clean painted aluminum siding, use a mixture of mild detergent and water applied with a soft brush or sponge. Rinse thoroughly with a garden hose to remove soap residue. For stubborn stains, cleaning aluminum siding with a power washer on a low-pressure setting can be effective. But avoid using high pressure, which could damage the paint.

Yes, cedar is a popular option for shou sugi ban siding, which is a Japanese style of charring wood for a home’s exterior to finish and protect the material. Cedar shou sugi ban siding costs $15 per square foot on average, but ranges between $2 and $25 per square foot depending on your home’s size, the price of labor, and where you live.

If you buy new cedar, the process of cutting it usually roughs up the surface enough that it doesn’t require sanding. However, if you buy older cedar or you’re repurposing it from another application, it’s a good idea to sand it. This helps the stain settle into the grain, and results in a more uniform appearance.

You may only need to repaint fiber cement siding every decade or so, but you should clean it every six to 12 months, depending on your local climate. First, wash with a garden hose or similar low-pressure device (not a high-pressure washer, which can damage the material) to remove dirt and any large debris. Then, gently wipe down the surface with a soft brush or cloth in a side-to-side motion, following the grain of the fiber cement.
