"Mark, the owner came over himself to estimate the job. He was extremely knowledgeable and was able to explain what and why they were going to do. He also was able to give comparisons of equipment used by other companies. The front office kept me updated on tests and appointments, timely. His crew was very professional and PUNCTUAL! They took the time to remove all signs and equipment of my old water system, which they didn't have to do. Due to hard-packed dirt under my basement floor, they had to return 3 times to bring my Radon Air within EPA standards. However, the quoted price didn't change, and each time the crew was as professional as their first visit. I highly recommend Mark and US Water Consultants for your Radon Air Mitigation and any water improvements and modifications."

"John was great, came to inspect our home in Rochester and was professional and had every piece of equipment you could need to give us a detailed look into our house. "It went fantastic. Scheduling wise the gentlemen at Rhino Radon were quick to respond to our inquiry via there website were I filled out a online questionnaire. Once speaking to Henry about the specifics of my home via phone and letting him no my situation. They were prompt in scheduling a date for installation to assure my radon problem didn't delay my ability to sell the home. From the time I filled out there questionnaire on there website till the system was installed and fully operational, all took place In one weeks time. I no from experience that these days the attentiveness and service Rhino Radon provided me can be difficult to find. Having recently just finished the process of building my own home in Malden and dealing with a wide range of company's and workers. It's the little things that stand out like personal treatment, responding quick to inquiries or concerns and of course taking the time to do things properly the first time around while still treating the home with respect. Rhino Radon came recommended to me via a friend and I couldn't thank them enough for steering me in the right direction for my radon mitigation needs. I would like to do the same to anyone currently searching for a radon company. If you want the job done right and a pleasant experience, look no further for your radon needs then Rhino Radon Services.

Radon Detection and Reduction questions, answered by experts

Radon enters your home when warm air begins to rise and exits through the roof, creating a vacuum that pulls cooler air from under the foundation. Part of that air is radon, which is an invisible, odorless gas that develops naturally when radioactive particles are deep within the ground. Those particles usually come from decaying matter in soil and rocks.

The natural breakdown of uranium in soil, rock, and water can cause radon to appear in a home. The gas seeps into homes through cracks in foundations, walls, or floors, as well as through gaps around pipes or construction joints. Radon levels are influenced by soil composition, building materials, and ventilation. Poorly sealed or airtight homes can trap radon, allowing it to accumulate.

A homeowner can install a radon mitigation system on their own. But it’s a challenging DIY that requires a lot of knowledge about radon mitigation as well as familiarity with local regulations. You do not want to risk an improper installation that leaves the system unable to detect radon or gives it a shortened life span. Relying on a professional is the surest way to guarantee a successful installation.

Mitigation reduces radon levels, protecting your health and complying with safety standards.

No level of radon is technically safe, but since it is naturally present everywhere, it is impossible to avoid entirely. The average radon level in homes across the United States is 1.3 picocuries per liter (pCi/L). The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) recommends taking action to reduce radon levels if your home's test results are between 2 and 4 pCi/L or higher.
