"Cory and Colton arrived on the time schedule, did a survey on the apartment and quickly started moving the furniture. They were very professional and did the best they could to finish as early as possible."

"Our moving team was right on time, very efficient and respectful. They did an excellent job packing a very full truck for a cross country move. When we got there, nothing shifted, nothing broke. They were great, would highly recommend!!"

"Ive moved over 10 times being in the Military who usually pays for my move. This Move i was paying for after speaking to 5 different companies, Top Tier Van Lines was the most Honestout of them All! As they were the only ones to let me know the extra charges for wrapping my TVs, Mirrors , China Hutch, which none of the other moving company mentioned! The guys who picked me up were VERY professional all in Uniform and all employed by Top Tier Van Lines! The Foreman Alfonzo was Great as well as my Moving coordinator Brian was there for me from start to finish! Im Very Pleased with the overall move. I had a few scratches here and there but probably overall the best moves ive had thank you again"

"We hired Wood Bros. to assist with a move from Kittery ME to MA. Person on the phone was very pleasant, gave an accurate quote, and was able to accommodate the last-minute nature of our move (I think we gave them 3 days warning). On moving day, 3 movers showed up on-time and were extremely efficient in getting things loaded on to the truck. They made an effort to check in with us & make sure they'd gotten everything.
On the other end, the guys carried all our stuff up to a 3rd floor apartment with tricky stairwells. There were some iffy moments with some of our larger items, but the guys were determined and came up with creative solutions for how to get things up the stairs. They made sure to ask us where we wanted everything. I know I would have been complaining about running up and down 3 flights of stairs over and over, but the guys were great at motivating each other and kept the mood light.
Moving days are always extremely stressful, but these guys really took a lot of stress out of the equation - they're motivated, determined, and they kept us laughing. Highly recommend.

Moving questions, answered by experts

Yes, it is cheaper to move yourself than to hire professional movers. The average DIY move costs $120 to $2,300, while professionals cost $890 to $2,570 on average or up to $12,000 for the longest distances. While you’ll save on the cost of professional labor with a DIY move, you’ll spend more time and energy packing, loading, transporting, unloading, and unpacking.

How long it takes movers to move cross-country depends on location, travel route, weather, and the moving company's schedule. Typically, a cross-country move can take 7 to 14 days. Always check with your mover for the most accurate estimate tailored to your situation.

No, not tipping movers isn’t considered rude. Tipping is optional, not expected. There are plenty of alternative ways to show your appreciation without tipping.

Moving a house is a complex and labor-intensive process, which is why it can get so pricey, particularly if it’s a large home. In some cases, the house may need to be dismantled, moved in sections, and then reassembled at the new location, which can add significantly to the cost of the move. However, it’s typically less costly than building a new home.

Yes, it’s possible, but it’s important to be extremely careful, and always remove rocks and heavier hardscape items. Drain all the water from the tank, leaving just enough to keep the gravel slightly submerged to keep your bacteria alive. Then, grab a helper or two and carefully lift the tank from either side, supporting the bottom and keeping it level. If the tank is especially heavy, consider slipping plywood underneath to minimize pressure on the glass. Be sure to pack it so it stays level and doesn’t shift during transit.
