"My wife and I hired Chris to complete a patio install with a square fire pit in the middle. After choosing a design and different pavers from different manufacturers Chris was able to obtain all the needed materials and did a fantastic job."

"Bob Goddard was my salesman and project designer. He explained the process and the quality of the materials being used. The inside contacts Anne Marie and Amber were excellent. They went above and beyond to insure a great experience. The builders were professional and the project moved along quickly. The result was a beautiful room to enjoy the outdoors ."

"Justin B from Morgan Exteriors was fantastic. He came up with a great design and thoroughly explained everything. Unfortunately, the cost was over our budget, but that is not Morgan fault. I _wish_ we could have gone this route. And based on our experience, I would definitely recommend this business."

"We hired this company to put in a patio in our pool area , and to place river stone in the garden area of the pool . The work was top quality. His workers were polite and very friendly. His work exceeded our expectations! And when the job was finished he clean up the site outside of the pool area to restore it back to normal, We can not say enough good things about this company. "Jim was fast and responsive while other contractors were not returning my calls. He was able to assess the situation and recommend a plan of action to fix water leaking into the house from an old improperly installed concrete walkway. While the project had a lot of unexpected twists and turns, Jim was great through the whole process, keeping me informed of what they found, and how they could go about fixing the problem. The work was done quickly and was top notch quality. We are very pleased with the results and best of all, no water is now coming into the house!"

Patios questions, answered by experts

A screened-in porch requires maintenance to keep the screens clean and in good shape, and you may have to do some screen repair or replacement from time to time. A screen porch isn’t an all-season porch, so the weather can get in, including wind and rain.

An Arizona room may or may not count toward your home’s square footage, depending on local regulations and the specifics of the room, but generally does not get included in the total square footage. In many locations, a room needs to be built to the same quality as the rest of the home, have an integrated heating/cooling system, and be habitable year-round to count toward square footage.

If you’re trying to decide between a sunroom and a screened-in porch, the right choice will depend on your priorities. A screened-in porch costs only a fraction of the price of a sunroom, but in exchange, it has much more limited use. A sunroom will add more value to your home, but at a much higher up-front cost and longer construction timeline.

Yes, but ensuring the deck has a solid foundation with adequate footings is critical before building, as the weight of a sunroom will put significant pressure on the structure below. Even if your deck is properly constructed, it may not be able to handle the extra weight. While some basic, lightweight, prefabricated sunrooms can sit on a deck with a strong existing foundation without additional supports, in many cases, the foundation and joists will need reinforcement. It is always best to have a structural engineer perform an inspection to evaluate the deck's quality and structural integrity. A professional can help you decide if reinforcement is sufficient or if it's better to tear down the deck and start over.

If you want to hire a professional to build a screened-in porch, a local sunroom or porch contractor is your best bet. If you can't find a local sunroom builder, another option is to consider hiring a general contractor to perform the work.

If you're handy, you may consider building the porch yourself. Before you do so, make sure you understand the local permit requirements and building codes so that you don't have any problems with the safety or structure of the porch.
