"The crew worked efficiently and were very professional. They had a problem laying wood around my fire place due to uneven cement. They were able to problem solve and add a molding around the bricks. However it was not sitting flat. I texted and told them about the unsightly raised area at the center of the front of the fireplace, But have not heard back. I even gave them an extra $150 to sand the area flat. I going to hire someone to come back to fix the problem."

Customers say: True professional

"Our oak floors were starting to get very dry, especially in the kitchen where every water droplet was starting to cause dark spots. We hired Lou to sand and refinish. He was easy to work with, did what he said he would do and we are very pleased with the floors. We highly recommend him. We appreciate that we could have the floors done during this pandemic. Worked out great. Thanks Lou, lots more projects, we'll use Lou again."

"Anthony and Andy replaced boards ruined by water. They placed it staggered and it blended in beautifully. After the sanded and poly u couldnà ¢à  à  t tell where it was patched. They sanded and finished the entire dining and living room. Ità ¢à  à  s just beautiful. I would highly recommend them and will call to install hardwood on our stairs and hallway upstairs in the future. Best of luck in your business Anthony and Andy, it was our pleasure working with you !"

"Kevin and his father did an amazing job refinishing all the wood floors in my house. They arrived when promised and kept in touch with me while the work was being done. "Adam did an excellent job building our garage from the ground up. He was excellent to work with. Not only was he very professional, so were the subcontractors that he hired. Everyone was knowledgeable, helpful and friendly. Our project required that a road be built to accommodate large trucks in the springtime. The project stayed on track and proceeded smoothly. We were never left wondering “what’s next?” Adam has great communication and stayed in touch to make sure we knew what was coming up and when. I would definitely recommend using Magic Frog Carpentry."

Floor Sanding questions, answered by experts

Land surveys are worth it in several scenarios including selling your home, building an addition, constructing a fence, or making major changes to your landscape. A professional land survey can help you avoid legal issues with your neighbors and confirm the value of your property. In many cases, you may be required to order a land survey to receive a construction permit or mortgage loan.

You will find a collection of licensed land surveyors in your area. Your real estate agent or construction manager may also be able to recommend a trusted professional. When speaking with prospective pros in your area, ask the land surveyor if they are licensed in the state, have liability insurance, and can quote you a fee before starting.

This is fairly rare, but sometimes the local government or a group like a historical society will label a tree as a landmark, or historical item. These designations almost always come with a small, on-site plaque for identification, but you should also be able to look up protected trees in your area on a city website or similar list. If the tree in question is a landmark, call your local government and ask how to proceed before making any plans.

Depending on the type of land survey, the report will mark the boundaries of your property, the topographical changes of the landscape, as well as major natural and added structures to the plot. A more detailed survey, like an as-built survey, will note the measurements of the structures and landscape following major construction. A topographic survey will also help your contractor determine the cost of land development projects.

Measure from zero on a measuring tape by placing the metal hook right up against the edge of what you need to measure. You can also latch the hook onto an open edge—of, say, a table—to accurately measure as well. If you begin at the 1-inch mark, you'll need to subtract an inch from your total.
