Intelligence Irrigation Mobile phone Access to your sprinkler system Multi location of your lawn management Eco Friendly Smart Technology

"I think I should post this here because businesses ought to know how important communication is when dealing with customers who are ready, willing and able to pay you to do a large job, but your hired help totally screws up. I had been looking for an irrigation company for a while to repair or replace my system and got GSI to come and repair a few leaks in the piping/tubing last August in 2019. I thought he (the owner) was fast and did a great job. I told him that in the future when I was home, I would like to make an appt to go over replacing the mechanism if necessary and moving and replacing and adding some of the sprinkler heads.. which they could do it even if I was not here, as someone else would be home to let them into the basement if needed. I started calling this spring, first to turn on my water clock... then to meet with him for an estimate. In May of 2020 I called and he sent a young man to turn on the water and sprinkler clock, or so I thought. The whole month of June and no water came on so we called again and two young women came out. They turned on the clock and said we were called and told to do it. No such phone call came. I don't even know to turn it on which is why I called them in the first place. So the water went on and it was staying on too long. The person who remained in the house while I was away turned the clock off and has been working it manually to water at night until I can get the whole thing fixed... Meanwhile, I called at least twice to let them know when I'd be home so they could come and estimate the work, but no one returned my calls. When I had the chance to get home (pandemic and eldercare situation) I thought I would try one more time with an email asking the same thing: can you do this work, and when? This is what I got for the shocking response: --- Hi XXXX, We have gone out several times to your house to work on your system and the system is very old and needs to be replaced. Arnold went over this with you and we still try to put bandaids on it to keep it running. I think you might want a second opinion from another company at this point . Sorry we can't help you --- Wow. I guess they don't want my money? The first time he came out was just a quick repair, at which time I told him the system was a mess and needed replacing. He never 'went over' anything with me, because I already knew that it needed big work and I assumed he knew I understood that, and would wait until they could schedule me in. The second time was to turn on water while waiting, and the last time was because the second person never actually turned it on. I wrote back the story above, and said I was quite puzzled at their response. I told them, but I guess if they don't want my money I would call someone else. I've never asked them to put "bandaids" on it, just to fix the leak for now which was wasting gallons of water, just a tubing section. I am not sure but even with a new mechanism, the tubing would still be the same and subject to damage from time to time, such as being hit with a shovel when digging to plant, etc. Thus the job is up for grabs. THAT my friends is no way to do business. I am still puzzled they think they were out here putting 'bandaids' on things. If they were too busy they should have just said so. I usually wait before writing bad reviews but after that insane response, I was furious as little of it was true."

Lawn Irrigation questions, answered by experts

Enhanced root development, better fertilizer uptake, and improved drought resistance.

It depends on the condition of the grass during the drought. If your grass completely died, it won’t turn green again after drought. However, if it just went dormant, you still have a chance to revive your lawn once drought conditions have passed. Follow proper lawn care practices after a drought to try and get your lawn back to its healthy, green self.

The easiest way to rough up soil to accept grass seed and provide the best opportunity for its growth is to make several passes over the area with a garden tiller and rake away the loosened vegetation and debris. However, in some cases, very hard ground may require using a shovel or pick to break up pieces into smaller chunks that the tiller can handle more easily.

No, it's not a good idea to put grass seed directly on top of dead grass. For successful germination and growth, grass seed needs good soil contact. To prepare the area, start by removing the dead grass using a shovel or a sod cutter. Then, loosen the soil, add soil amendments if necessary, and spread the grass seed evenly. This allows the seed to come into direct contact with the soil, promoting better germination and establishing a healthier lawn.

There are plenty of products to help green up your grass. Try an iron supplement spray or fertilizer that is rich in nitrogen. You can also apply a thin layer of compost on top of your lawn at the beginning of spring to give the grass a nutrition boost, which helps it achieve that bright color you are looking for.
