Inland Building is a two man operation. We bring in subcontracted help as the size of the job requires. We charge out at 45.00 dollars per hour and normally like to work on a time and materials basis. Materials and subcontractors provided by us are marked up 20% for profit and overhead costs. We are fully insured and stand behind our work.

The customer service provided by High Meadow Builders during replacing my roof or more recently replacing the two bedroom windows. They were fast, neat (really important) and appeared to know what they are doing. The roof was done a few years back and we have had no problems with it. The windows were done only a week or so ago and through a major rain storm there were no concerns at all. They have done other work in the past that have had no problems over the last 5+ years."

Some homeowners use caulk on the edges of clapboard siding to help seal it. However, this method invites new problems. With so many gaps sealed, clapboard siding is often unable to drain properly and moisture from rain or other sources can build up inside. This can lead to rot and other issues over time. When repairing clapboards, it’s best to avoid caulking the final product. The exception is trim around windows and doors, which should be caulked to avoid moisture problems.

Regular washing and quick repair of damaged areas to maintain appearance.

Mildew grows into porous wood, making it more difficult to remove than regular dirt (and more destructive). We suggest using a dedicated mildew and mold fungicide to remove mildew, which is found in any local home improvement store. Apply a dose of the fungicide to the siding and leave to work according to the instructions, usually for an hour or two. Then wash it thoroughly away and scrub the spot again. Repeat the process if necessary. If nothing is removing the mildew stains, you should plan on removing those clapboard planks in time, as their damage could cause future problems.

Traditional clapboard siding, particularly with panels made from wood, is not a significant insulator on its own. However, you can keep your home cooler in summer and warmer with "insulated clapboard siding," which is a type of vinyl clapboard siding with a built-in foam insulation. Consult a local siding contractor to determine whether insulated siding is right for your home.
